Strawb- Just booked his assesment with Carole she seems very nice. She says at that age they mainly look at confidence (no problem there) and if he wants to do a little poem its up to him. Fingers crossed! He has that appointment the day after his modelling one with Norrie carr so a busier half term!

mysonsmummy · 08/05/2006 13:56

ive been waiting all last week to hear from UA. so this morning sent photos again. within 5 minutes got reply from Alysia saying ''Thanks for the pictures of *** he is lovely.
We would love to see him for a new face consultation.'' so going to see them in half term - they are doing four day sort of seeing new people thingy. as they only see people twice a year its going to be busy. so i might re-send B&B or shod i wait - its been a week now.

julie4travel · 08/05/2006 14:08

my sons mummy- I am going to re submit mine again now I still haven't heard

Well done for you getting through

SHHHH · 08/05/2006 14:12

sorry to butt in....can anyone offer me advice on putting my dd forward for modelling..??
She is 1 in a few weeks time and she receives lots of comments on how adorable she is etc. She also is quite a smiley baby iykwim...

We are in the northwest of england and would like info on how I would go about contacting modelling agencies etc.

mysonsmummy · 08/05/2006 14:16

hi julie - yes do - it will go to the owner and the info ... address and she should let you know straight away - let me know. how old is your lo?

julie4travel · 08/05/2006 14:22

my sons mummy- just re submitted so fingers crossed. Hopefully I wont have too long to wait. My son is 5 and half , I sent my 2 and half year old daughter aswell yet will probably get a no as people do not seem to like that age group!!!!! as they are too much hard work , yet you never know

julie4travel · 08/05/2006 14:25

Shhhh- One of the members here has a website with different agencies listed its www.childmodelling.net. It gives a rating system etc on agencies and contact details. I ploughed through the list a lot of people like Urban Angels, Truly Scrumptious, Mot , elliott brown etc, read up on them on that site- good luck!

julie4travel · 08/05/2006 14:55

Mysonsmummy - Got a no as quick as that (like you after all that waiting!

They said - they have been inundated with enquiries for this intake and we have now selected who we would like to see. Suppose thats a polite way of saying no.

I will just stick with the Norrie Carr assesment and the CS Management one and if I don't think Norrie Carr is for us I may even just renew his Scallywags one for another year and hope he gets more work this time round. who knows!

mythumbelinas · 08/05/2006 15:02

julie, sorry to hear that!
Reminds me, i have been encouraging my sister to put her ds into modelling. I think she applied him for UA last week too .. i will ask her if she has had a reply.

julie4travel · 08/05/2006 15:05

My thumbelinas- Yes ask her or get her to chase as it seems they have had a lot of enquirys recently. I better post my Truly Scrumptious ones asap then as they could be the same as they only started again in May. Some you win some you loose I suppose.

SHHHH · 08/05/2006 15:12

thanks julie4travel..!!! Will read it now. xx

izzyrubi · 08/05/2006 16:18

mysonsmummy >> if I were you I'd submit the photos to B&B again, maybe you'll hear from them soon as well Smile. Well done for getting the interview at UA, they're really nice, you'll see!

SHHHH >> Welcome to the thread! There are some good agencies up north I think Boss and DK are the most well known but you can also apply to the agencies in London, not all of them will consider your dd but some will, I'd suggest you try Bruce & Brown, Kids London, Urban Angels and MOT to start with as they're very well known and reputable agencies! If they don't take your lo try others and do try as many as you can, don't go to the first agency that accepts her :) and let us know how you get on!!

Julie >> Sorry to hear about UA. Most castings we've been to we met kids from Norrie Carr, I'm sure he'll be fine!

tinkerbellchelle · 08/05/2006 16:38

izzyrubi · 08/05/2006 17:11

tink >> sorry to hear that the modelling front is slow, I'm sure your lo will get loads of work soon!! How exciting about your party, I'm sure it will be a big success, you must send us photos and tell us all about it!!

tinkerbellchelle · 08/05/2006 17:18

ha ha yeah will def get loads of photos.. We're gonna put cameras dotted around for everyone to take pictures. I dread to think what pictures they will get LOL :)

Yeah its a shame its slow but maybe as he grows up he'll get something :) his hair is growing curly its lush....:)

It seems lots of people are really busy which is great!!! :)

strawberrymilkshake · 08/05/2006 17:20

Julie> well done to ds, she is really nice she phoned me this afternoon dd got the job im so excited, its for a voice over. dd does attend part time drama school in our local area, but i think sometimes they like it when kids dont walk straight out of a drama school as they like a variety of children. sorry only just text back as i have only just got in.

Morning all
Strawb- well done on the job
Well as I have booked the Norrie Carr assesment one day and the CS one the next day of half term I am thinking I may aswell stay in London and take my son to a show. he would live that I took him to Joseph at St Albans on his school trip and he loved it singing and dancing in the aisles. My next mission will be pricing up the hotels to see if I can get a deal or not before I suprise my hubbie with the cost!

Izzirubi - Thanks for getting your friend to email me she has been very helpful, much appreciated.

izzyrubi · 09/05/2006 10:46
