Is it just me who thinks that CBeebies Sid is just lovely? He seems to have had his hair cut today and be looking particularly fine... Maybe I should get out more after all!

I think your son has great discernment. I start to cry too.

I would be addicted to 64 Zoo Lane but unfortunately it clashes with dd2's bedtime.

Am regressing very fast, obviously. Thank god Six Feet Under is back on terrestrial telly, ditto Frasier.

Zoe in "real life" is a radio presenter on Real Radio (for anyone living in Scotland who can get the channel!) Marie-Clare as she is called did the morning show for a while with another presenter but now has moved to the afternoon. They do occasionally rip the mick out of Zingalong and her justification, she was singing for 3 year olds! Not patronizing at all then, hmmmm??!!!

I don't know who writes the Zingalong songs, if it could indeed be called writing them! The kiddies on the show could do better. DS twins love it though.

popsycal · 01/02/2004 20:50

dh wnats to know when six feet under is on please????

popsycal · 01/02/2004 20:51

suzywong · 01/02/2004 20:59

popsycal · 01/02/2004 21:01

suzywong · 01/02/2004 21:03

popsycal · 01/02/2004 21:06

the giraffe and you can see the person's head half way up it....
and that doll type thing
freaks me out

suzywong · 01/02/2004 21:07

It's like they had a load of costumes left over from a failed fancy dress shop and 15 minutes to think of a concept.
I do not care to have it on in my house

popsycal · 01/02/2004 21:09

you are so right about the fancy dress thing!!!!
rofl!!1
i too turn the tv off!!
dh saw it for the first time today and i cant repeatr his comment!!

Agree about polka dot shorts. It's a grotesque nightmarish vision into hell. We're not used to this kind of cr*p on CBeebies, crisis at the BBC or no. Gerritoff.
But I LOVE the song for 64 Zoo Lane. We found it on the CBeebies website the other day and I actually had tears in my eyes when it came on.. I am quite hormonal at the moment.
Dh now says that Sid's my boyfriend when he refers to CBeebies (But I think this is to detract from the obvious crush dh himself has on Sophie Rayworth).
And doesn't Pui look thin now she's back off maternity leave?

suzywong · 01/02/2004 21:25

She does look very thin doesn't she
And there's one called Georgina who's incredibly taaaaaaalllllllllll!

Chinchilla · 01/02/2004 21:32

When Zingalong is on, ds points to Zoe and says, 'Nye Hair' (nice hair!) He also thinks that it is me! He points and says 'Bubba', which is his name for me. I do take it as a compliment, as dh thinks she's lovely!

Moomin · 01/02/2004 21:39

I don't mean to be horrid about a child, and I'm sure she's an absolute darling in real life, but has anyone noticed the little blonde girl in Zingalong who's painting at the easel when the spaceship lands at the beginning? She looks like one of the children from Village of the Damned. VERY spooky...

suzywong · 01/02/2004 21:42

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep here away from us!

coppertop · 01/02/2004 21:45

Those poor kids in Zingalong. I agree about the blonde girl at the beginning. She looks seriously p*ssed off about being filmed. Then again she's probably just sat through about 20 out-takes of the lovely Zoe's 'singing'.

motherinferior · 02/02/2004 08:37

DP thinks the children in Zingalong are on massive doses of tranquilisers. He is a WildLife addict himself.

I have noticed that about Pui too, in a jadedly jealous sort of way.

suzywong · 16/02/2004 12:14

Big Cook Little Cook
Anyone else's kids glued to this utter utter moronic tripe?
It's making me come over all Postal Worker, how can they pass off this rot? And the worst thing is the cast have trained for three years as actors to be in this?

But the kids love it so what do I know?

MrsK · 16/02/2004 12:31

My DD loves Big Cook, Little Cook so much so that I have to tape it and then we watch it again straight away. I dont mind it as much as some other programmes, I refuse to have Zingalong on and I absolutely loathe Dora the Explorer, Blues Clues.

We are not a big fans of Story Makers either, especially as Milton Wordsworth was a particularly nasty Vampire in Blade 2. The bedtime hour on Cbeebies is pretty c**p apart from Wildlife, DD prefers Nick JR at that time but it goes in until 8pm I used to be able to fool her and say it finished at the same time as Cbeebies but she has twigged.

Oh dear I should get out more no wonder I found I'm A Celebrity Get Me Outta Here absorbing and intellectually stimulating.

lazyeye · 16/02/2004 12:31

My ds1 loves it. Must admit I quite like the "Cleanest kitchen in town" song...think their dancing is quite groovy, but then i am a bit of a sad case.........

bea · 06/03/2004 20:15

just to revive the thread... must admit i love the bedtime song on cbeebies... have you brushed your teeth?... and did you all see chris playing the keyboard/piano to the other bedtime song the other night... makes me go all teary... (am quite hormonal at the moment!!!) and ditto about the theme tune to 64 zoo lane - dd loves it and sings along in a lovely voice!!!!

plus... think it's very funny but whenever dd has done a wee on the loo (hoooray!), she drops the toilet paper down, looks down the loo and says "imagine imagine...." complete with hand movements....

popsycal · 06/03/2004 20:18

Sorry but I have to mention this.....
what has happened to the annying voices of jelly and jackson??
did i offend the librarians earlier int his thread and have they resigned or something?? Is it only me who has noticed this today?

popsycal · 06/03/2004 20:19

wasnt this thread i was on about....
