Is it just me who thinks that CBeebies Sid is just lovely? He seems to have had his hair cut today and be looking particularly fine... Maybe I should get out more after all!

'Sexy Sid' should be in the 'Unlikely Celebrity Crush Bar'

popsycal · 17/01/2004 19:47

next time chris is doing the bedtime song..watch his lips when he sings 'all of your toys all over the place'
argh

Paula71 · 17/01/2004 23:54

Glad to see I am not the only one who can sing to all the CBeebies tunes. Has anyone been caught out though? I was singing a tune from Balamory while doing my shopping at Tescos (under my breath of course, I'm not a compelete loon!) DS twins thought it great but I got some very funny looks.

And if we are on the subject of yummy men on TV may I say Evan from Joe Millionaire is quite fine (even if he does look a little dopey from time to time!) Also, I am worried that I think the guy who plays Monk is sort of sweet, in a quirky kind of way! (Must be an older man thing going on with me there!)

Chinchilla · 18/01/2004 22:11

Kirsten is the one with Doogie the dog...BUT, that is not the one who does the glass painting. That is, and I quote, 'Bizzy Lizzy' (pathetic hey?) I agree about the mouth. Dh said only today, 'I'm sure that they could have got someone better than her to do this programme.'

Sue Monroe was on Playdays in 1994, so she must be at least 30.

Eowyn,

I have wet dreams about Nathan from Hi5.

He reminds me of a holiday fling I had with an Aussie guy before I got married (to an english man - not said aussie unfortunately..........)

I am taking DD to see Hi5 show in February - will have to resist urge to throw knickers on stage..........

suzywong · 18/01/2004 22:48

uplate
please tell me where Hi5 are playing? Is it a tour or a one-off?

I know DH would be glad to take DS1 to see it (and to see Kathleen).

PS is Nathan the one with curly hair, and do you think the two blonde girls look startlingly similar?

uplate · 18/01/2004 22:57

suzy,

they have a website, and a link to UK tourdates -

here is their website - ninemsn.com.au/kids/hi5/singalong.asp and here is the list of UK tour dates -
www.icaaustralia.com/EventDetail.asp?EventID=25

sorry I can't do the links for some reason.

Yep, Nathan is the one with the curly hair, Tim is a bit wet for me.

Can't distinguish between Kelley and Charli - the two blonde girls, DD loves Kathleen best.

suzywong · 18/01/2004 22:59

thanks Uplate

Are you Wiggles fan too ?

uplate · 18/01/2004 22:59

who/ what is wiggles???

suzywong · 18/01/2004 23:05

They Australia's answer to ... well children's entertainment. All singing all dancing all happy clappy irritating songs but kids love them.

I only know them cos through DH's Australian family although you can see them on the Discovery Channel.

No spunks among them though

uplate · 18/01/2004 23:14

Ahh, now I understand, will have to look at Discovery channel, but if no cute guys - probably won't bother.

Did you check the websites?

suzywong · 18/01/2004 23:16

Yes thanks I did, but the nearest one to us is a schlep across town so i don't think I'll mention it.

CountessDracula · 18/01/2004 23:16

What on earth is a spunk Suzywong - sounds vile

I would hope not to see spunk on kids tv myself!

CountessDracula · 18/01/2004 23:19

BTW I would fancy Paul from Tikkabilla too if only he wasn't such a weed.

uplate · 18/01/2004 23:24

CD,

think 'spunk' in Aussie terms is a little different from how brits understand it - Dame Edna always went on about 'Spunky' chaps - raised a titter or two (oh god, is that another one??)

this thread is becoming too 'Carry on Camping' now........

suzywong · 18/01/2004 23:24

It is Australian for 'fine looking fellow' we were talking about the Australian kids' show Hi5 so it was entirely apporpriate

CountessDracula · 19/01/2004 11:39

Ah good, I guess I should have know that being half aussie but haven't been there for years!

It is rather a revolting expression though!

motherinferior · 19/01/2004 12:00

Today's Storymakers IMO strong testimony to too much dope being smoked at BBC (dp's theory). Blue Cow goes clubbing. Utterly wonderful.

lazyeye · 19/01/2004 12:04

I liked the one where she was a model in the fashion show.......great stuff. And I love they way Father Bear on the Goldilocks and the 3 bears rip off says "And if its Goldilocks tell her to go away, shes a proper nuisance" in thick Manc accent. Ace.

lazyeye · 19/01/2004 12:14

Oh God - meant "thick" Manc accent in the way I have quite a "thick" Geordie accent ie- quite strong. Lordy, wouldn't want to offend. Like the Manc accent anyway........

motherinferior · 31/01/2004 09:56

I hold this thread ENTIRELY responsible for the fact I have suddenly started fancying Sid and come over all coy and wistful when he sings Are You Ready For Bed.

Even more embarrassingly I have become addicted to the Koala Brothers.

Chinchilla · 31/01/2004 18:44

Don't worry, I'm a 'Story Makers' addict myself. Byron is worth watching too!

coppertop · 31/01/2004 18:51

Bl**dy tuneless Zoe from Zingalong is making life difficult at the moment. Ds1 loves watching Zingalong. Ds2 (11 months) finds it interesting but bursts into tears everytime that woman starts to 'sing' and has to be taken out of the room.

I suppose I should be grateful that ds2 has an ear for a tune but he's a big boy and my arms ache from all this extra carrying!! AAARRRGGGH!

Chinchilla · 31/01/2004 19:01

Does ANYONE like Zingalong??? And what about that dreadful 'Polka Dot Shorts'...one question...WHY?

suzywong · 31/01/2004 19:01

Zoe must be sg the producer, whyonearthelse would they get her to torment those poor kids with her dirges?

I like Mr Mopple reading the stories on Step Inside he can let his 'thearticality' off the leash more so than in Cbeebies.
