Annunziata · 01/10/2012 14:58

I think you English is brilliant Franca, it's so well written!

Grin They keep me busy! And mad! Grazzi mille. Quanti figgiu avia?

Annunziata · 01/10/2012 15:00

Si, cincu!

Cazzo, my own English was shocking there! Scusatimi!

Francagoestohollywood · 01/10/2012 15:00

Grazie Smile!

Io ho due figli: un maschio di 10 anni e una femmina di 8.

Alameda · 01/10/2012 15:00

I might just say that, the point is to try to use as many of the verbs and tenses on the list as possible, not hide the fact that I am not entirely as normal as I would like to be? Grin

Oh lovely ages! Bedda!

Alameda · 01/10/2012 15:04

no wonder your husband isn't keen on more babies then, four is plenty isn't it? Wait to be a nonnative?

I got muddled for a minute and thought you had five boys of your own not five brothers

Alameda · 01/10/2012 15:06

NONNA

what IS a nonnative? A non-native?

OP posts:
Annunziata · 01/10/2012 15:07

I have six babies! Five brothers, 2 sisters, 4 sons and 2 daughters Grin

God no, I couldn't have another one, not at my age! I still want a gatti though.

Alameda · 01/10/2012 15:15

oh of course, sorry, six - is not helped by the total blank I draw with numbers in English Blush but yes, complimenti to you!

I love big families and hardly seem to come across any now, which is sad because in lots of ways they are fun to grow up in I think.

Annunziata · 01/10/2012 15:20

Grazzi! One is adopted though, I shouldn't get too much complimenti.

Aye, it was great fun. And the expression on people's faces when we all appear Grin

Alameda · 01/10/2012 15:26

well a cat is not much to ask for after all those babies whether you grew them all yourself or not!

OP posts:
Annunziata · 01/10/2012 15:36

SI! Precisamente! Grin

Lui odio, he says he's never felt so unloved at his mothers because the cat gets fed before he does, it growls at him and it does have a nasty habit of digging her claws into him and tripping him up. ROFL.

LaFataTurchina · 01/10/2012 15:38

I'm also v. impressed - I work in Early Years so regularly find my self looking after 6plus children but never by myself and also I get to give them back at the end of the day! Grin

I'm feeling rather proud of my self as I've applied to 4 jobs today.

The bit of Italian grammar I struggle with is who gets 'lei' and who gets 'tu' - I know in theory but it practice I always get frazzled.
For example, someone serving me in a shop but my age (24) or younger - seems far too formal to call them 'lei'. Or someone elderly but my relative Confused

Francagoestohollywood · 01/10/2012 16:21

It is OK to "dare del tu" to a shop assistant who is your age or younger, but I think it is more polite to use il lei. I don't always do it though, it really depends.

How old is your youngest Annunziata?

Annunziata · 01/10/2012 16:43

14 Franca. Li chiu anticu avi 22.

Annunziata · 01/10/2012 16:46

Bonu fortuna, lafata. Spero che va bene.

Francagoestohollywood · 01/10/2012 16:47

Alameda · 01/10/2012 16:49

Francagoestohollywood · 01/10/2012 16:54
