Following on from the truly skint thread I bet there are lots of us with things we have that we would be prepared to send to those who are really struggling. I don't want to insult anyone by offering things but at the same time I want to help if I can. I have boys clothes and shoes up to age 5 and black school trousers age six. Pm me. Anyone else have anything

I can't do much (as yet) by way of children's clothing, as am expecting dc3 in a couple of months.

I do have furniture though - good, solid wood, perfectly usable furniture. We are moving house, and have no space for it.

I have: (and apologies, but htis is all large furniture - part o fthe reason why we are having problems getting rid Grin)

a sofa. big - doubles well as a single bed. feather cushions (and lots of them)
one armchair to match sofa.
a sideboard (yes, I know, hardly 'essential', but someone might want one)
a corner cabinet - 2 piece, cupboard base with a glass fronted top.
2 (yes, 2!) computer desks - one rectangular, one a corner desk.
2 bedside tables (I have actually been using these as a printer table and a tv table - they are quite big)

obviously none of this can be posted, but I am Kent/Surrey borders if anyone is interested Smile

and I hope this thread continues to run, as I will be getting rid of lots of baby things as dc3 grows out of them - definitely not having anymore!

oh, also meant to add I have a cotbed mattress - it has a washable zip-off cover. I know it is unlikely that someone would want it for a newborn, but if anyone has an older toddler still in a cotbed, who could do with a new(er) mattress then let me know.

I may well have some blankets (old, but perfectly usable) and possibly duvets once I have excavated the cupboards in the spare room - I'll update when I know.

brighthair · 19/05/2012 10:12

I have 2 or 3 bras will fit a 32H I would say. Brand new, no tags. They are labelled as 32J but are not that size hence why I can't wear them!!
I will have a look what else I have as I think I have some black block heel (suitable for work) shoes in a 7.5

NormaStanleyFletcher · 19/05/2012 10:18

I have maternity clothes, can't remember the size so will go look once dh has slept off the night shift

brighthair · 19/05/2012 10:20

P.S as I said on the other thread, I also have food, a full kettle, and an ear for you to bend if anyone is in need in Lancs. Or if you want to borrow a book/have some company/need help for a morning

wokeupandsmeltthecoffee · 19/05/2012 10:34

I have a few clothes for girl aged 3-4 and some newborn vests. In south Essex.

MrsHelsBels74 · 19/05/2012 10:35

I can't offer a great deal at the moment as baby number 2 is coming in September so all maternity/baby clothes are needed. However, like a lot of people I can offer a sympathetic ear, a full kettle & tissues if needed. Am in Brighton. I also make great cakes, special dietary needs no problem Grin

If anyone is in North Ayrshire and is desperate, I always have plenty of dried, staple food (am a paranoid food hoarder) like rice, pasta, dried beans and the like also tinned fish/fruit etc. nothing fancy but it does a turn.

we don't have a food bank here yet, although there is one in the early stages of planning for Ardrossan and I have spent 6 months tryint to persuade my Kirk Session that there is a need for one here.

Maghribia · 19/05/2012 11:08

I've PMed a couple of posters on this thread.

I'll continue my spring clean and report back when I know what I can offer.

TwllBach · 19/05/2012 12:05

I have quite a few 34E bras - rarely worn, all in good condition. Maybe some 34D as well. I'm happy to take pictures and post them if anyone wants to see them - most of them are la senza I think.

I also have two 6kg bags, unopened, of pedigree puppy food.

If anyone has any 34F bras I would be really grateful for them

I love this thread. So nice to see such a lovely side of human nature.

I am clearing out DS room this weekend so back later with items I will be happy to post out.

I know I have also 2 pairs of girls school trousers, black, age either 12 or 13. Hardly worn, M&S. PM me if any good.

RabbitsMakeBrownEggs · 19/05/2012 13:33

MsVelvet. I might be able to help with that. I will have a look at what doesn't fit DD.

RabbitsMakeBrownEggs · 19/05/2012 13:36

Also if anyone has any idea how I could get my hands on a cheap mobility scooter, I would be eternally grateful. Long shot into the dark.

I have a brand new size 10 Regatta waxed jacket if anyone can use it.It is too bulky to post and I realise that it isn't to everyone's taste, but will keep the rain off.I'm in Leicestershire and can deliver it within a 10 mile radius. Can also offer tea and cake if anyone needs it.

I was feeling down about losing a days' work a week, but a lot of people have it far,far worse.I'll have a look around and see what else I can find.
