Here we go

OP posts:
cyan · 09/02/2006 10:45

allie, i like they way that you are told in writing AFTER you have arranged the assessment.

perfumelady · 09/02/2006 10:45

cyan i think e/s are probably able to get away with it because they are well established with in the industy and highly regarded by the big name companies and they are the only child modelling agency listed with the AMA. so they do get really high profile jobs.

cyan · 09/02/2006 10:49

Norrie carr also charge and they are well established too. i know they arent on alba but they've been around for years. i completely understand what you're saying i just personally think its something to be addressed. it could also be a way of making sure you go for that agency as you'd soon get fed up of forking out £20+ to meet an agency IYSWIM. almost like it's a priviledge to meet some of them!

thorntons · 09/02/2006 10:50

Morning ! Cyan agree re ES.We decided against going to see them as joining/photographic fees asre expensive! Plus when dd has been on jobs I only recall ever seeing one little girl from ES. I know they are very well established but not the best. Have mainly met kids from Kids London,Truly Scrumptious,MOT ,Urban Angels, couple from Norrie Carr and Bizzy Kidz.

tinkerbellchelle · 09/02/2006 10:50

I might be wrong but wasn't the AMA set up by elisabeth smith?? I could be completly wrong.

Its so confusing choosing agents.... a friend said to me because UA said no and B&B said no that maybe LO is just not nice enough for modelling?? I dont really know what to make of her comment. It was written in email so its hard to understand "HOW " she meant it.

Urban Bones!!! LOL!!!

tinkerbellchelle · 09/02/2006 10:54

I think I will just see how these interviews we've got coming up go and if nothing just stick with BK and see what the future brings

cyan · 09/02/2006 10:55

tink> i think some one said that. IMO i think that the agencies that do charge will continue to do so until theres some sort of regulation in place, and which is properly moderated. I think it's great that agencies such as UA, KL, MOT and prob a cpl of others but cant think of right now, dont charge parents to meet them.

alliep30 · 09/02/2006 11:00

i know cyan...she was too chicken to tell me up front

perfumelady · 09/02/2006 11:03

tink that would explain why no other child agencies are in the ama, there are a few high profile adult super model agencies in the ama, i thought it was strange that agencies like bruce and brown weren't included but it all makes sense now.

i did read somewhere that differant agencies have a differant look so you could have the most beautiful child but get turned down by b/b or mot because they are not the look the agency are looking for also it said that then when an advertising company knew what look they wanted they would know what agency to go for. don't know how true that is as it is something i read not my view, so maybe you just haven't found the right agency for your little one, i'm sure your friend didn't mean to affend you, she maybe was trying to get you to stop so you didn't get hurt with any more rejection

tinkerbellchelle · 09/02/2006 11:07

Yeah I think she meant it in a nice way. The good thing is the rejection doesnt worry me as to me he is GOREGOUS!!! LOL

Yeah think that was what someone said about that was why no other children are on the AMA.

Anyway I have to go get ready going to a champagne and canapes evening tonight and need to get an outfit ( I dont even know what canapes are!!!!!!!!!! ) LOL bye all spk 2nite Im sure x
