Citizen Kane. It's so derivative. All the so-called amazing new things in it, I've seen a million times in other films.

Das Boot. YAWN.

NotQuiteCockney · 15/01/2006 19:34

Hausfrau, you're describing Night on Earth, by Jarmusch, which I do like. Taxi Driver is from the 70s, and involves Jodie Foster as a teen prostitute. I think.

TheDullWitch · 15/01/2006 19:35

All Westerns.

kiskidee · 15/01/2006 19:38

zulu, spartacus and most things of that ilk. the ones that go on forever and had to have dozen or so major film stars in them.

Meanoldmummy · 15/01/2006 19:38

And all WW2 films.

CarolinaMoon · 15/01/2006 19:40

agree about the Westerns (at least, the spaghetti ones - they look so crap with all the badly-dubbed dialogue).

Also most Vietnam films, esp the Deer Hunter (except maybe the Russian roulette scene).

How can you not like Glengarry Glenross MB? - it's a fab film.

Couldn't stand it....never finished it IIRC!

But each to his own, I'm still reeling from NQC not rating Citizen Kane

fell asleep in Apocalypse Now

harpsichordcarrier · 15/01/2006 19:42

star wars
had a lovely snooze in return of the jedi tho

CarolinaMoon · 15/01/2006 19:42

'fraid I'm with NQC on Citizen Kane. It's probably great if you're a film student but tbh I'm not that excited about seeing the ceiling in an interior shot...

Meanoldmummy · 15/01/2006 19:43

Roobie · 15/01/2006 19:43

no idea where that 'e' came from - du Paradis
