What stands out as an important thing that happened in the 1990's?

School project for goddaughter - we can't think of anything memorable (inventions, big news, fashion and style etc)from the 1990s. We've managed the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's but are strugglnig with the 90's.

So.....ideas please.

It's harder than I thought - we came up with loads for the 80's.

Also what hairstyles were in? - we remembered the massive permed hair of the early 90's cos we both have our wedding photos staring at us! ha ha

agree with internet/mobile phones, email etc. This type of technology has pretty much transformed things worldwide- Africa has jumped straight to mobiles skipping the landline in lots of places, for example.
