A desperate plea from a tired, hardworking, sleep deprived, skint mother of two. In a moment of madness I entered my ds into a photocomp in our local paper and was chuffed when he won for April. The grand final is now underway and the winner will be determined by the most online votes cast by the end of January. Would all you lovely mumsnetters mind logging on to \link{http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/childoftheyear} and register a vote for the 7mth old db on page 2 who looks like a fox in headlights! (initials HW) The winning prize is a trip to Disney in Paris! Thanking you all in advance (god I could do with a holiday) x

((((((hugs and good luck!)))))))))

mollymaid · 19/01/2006 21:40

ah thanks alot pussycatmomma -

I agree with you - The comments were a bit unnecessary and left a rather nasty taste in my mouth.

I was really enjoying myself chatting to everyone who had left such positive feedback. My request (I thought) was harmless and to be honest rather trivial compared to much more interesting debates held on mumsnetter.

Still you can't win 'em all (but I will let you know if I win the photo one!!!!....)

how often do the show you the vote thingy is it every day or every week

mollymaid · 19/01/2006 21:54

I'm not sure - probably every week day

OP posts:
mandieb · 19/01/2006 21:56

so at least you can tell sort of how you are doing then, as in if you dont make top 3 then

dizzydo · 19/01/2006 22:12

I have to agree with those unpopular people (in your opinion) who have disagreed with you Mollymaid. Why dont you get everyone to click on the feed the world button on Martin Lewis website. A much worthier cause IMO

mollymaid · 19/01/2006 22:13

goodbye and goodnight

lovecloud · 19/01/2006 22:21

MOLLYMAID - done it.

Good luck, he is gorgeous!!!

Rhubarb - can't vote as it's a bit against my principles??? whats that all about?

sorry bit nosey

lovecloud · 19/01/2006 22:30

Mollymaid - dont worry about all these people making negative comments.

If they are so bothered about it then dont do it and click on the websites they suggested or even better start their own ones up.

Some mums on here have bad insides!

Imagine if you knew then in real life!!!

Hope you get to get away - would love to go there myself.

Evs09 · 19/01/2006 22:46

Am I missing something here. A vote is your right to specify your right of opinion. If you dont agree then dont vote. (or even vote for another baby if you so wish)It is a competition.IMO mollymaid is using her inititive whether you agree with it or not. If you dont then as i said dont vote. It may not be something I would do personally but all the same good luck mollymaid

pussycatmomma · 21/01/2006 17:07

hows it going mollymaid?? are you still in top 3 chick? i still say well done for using your bloody inititive, not many people do these days, good for you if you win! oh, nearly forgot, and..............................................................................................................................................................bumpity bump bump bump

momofha · 21/01/2006 17:55

Mollymaid, just came across your post and i have voted for your little sweetie. You go girl and dont respond or worry about anyone you says you should not. Opportunities are meant to be grabbed with both hands not for you to sit back and wait for it to happen!!!

Let us know when you win and we want to see pics of you in disney land!!!

mandieb · 21/01/2006 19:50

so does that mean we can start bumping again now .

mollymaid · 24/01/2006 18:07

ah thanks everyone! Yes I'm still going for it - voting frantically whenever I can! Like you say, opportunities like this don't come up very often so I'm going for it...Only a week to go!

Fine thanks - still voting! I'm glad the deadline is near. Either way, I'll just be glad to get my life back!
