after someone linked to them the other day i ordered some stuff... not particularly for christmas, just general stuff.
I placed my order Friday evening and was imagining a post-christmas delivery, but stuff turned up yesterday morning!

Still waiting for an Amazon 'dispatching soon'. Ordered on the 14th...

I ordered a sony walkman for dh (new £200 one) and they said it would be with me on monday (I ordered it on friday) and they gave me the online discount even thoguh I ordered it on the phone! It came the next day (saturday!!!!) although he did just dump it in the garden for the night grrrr cos we were out.

amazon have been a bit startling here (in a good way). Placed order 14/12, all but one in stock but even with paying 1st class postage it said nothing would be delivered until after Christmas - then on 16/12 received email stating guaranteed delivery before Christmas up to 18/12 for free standard deliv and up to 20/12 for 1st class.

Checked "your account", still showing after-Christmas delivery, so emailed back asking how come, and next news got grovelly email saying terribly sorry, our mistake, we will send it all free of postage instantly. And so they did - all here by Mon 19th (second parcel delivered about 8pm )

play.com also excellent, also boots.com. Haven't used anybody else this year.

ebay,play,amazon..mischiefkids, bbclothing (brown bag) were all fab for me!
Boots kept declining my card for some reason but they have always been brilliant before

I've been pretty impressed by Boden's delivery timescale.

Just had an email from them saying that it won't be in time for Christmas .

Now need to track down a Travis.

I've been ill, so couldn't go out to get the jigsaw & Jigroll that I wanted for my cleaning lady.

Found a website and ordered Yesterday. It arrived 1/2 an hour ago.

Gem13, see my post and several others re Amazon on the other thread - you are not alone!

amazon were good for me this year, and oddbins (although they sent it via some tinpot carrier which doesn't have a depot in all towns)

It is weird, isn't it, Gem? It's as if different people at amazon make up their own rules. I'm sorry you won't be getting yours

lunavix, it's here - I did know they have 24-hour emergency cover but didn't realise they would really come in the middle of the night!

amazon have always been good for me (even though I got cracked cd cases because of their packaging).
Boden excellent as usual.
