Dd1 absolutely LOVES 'Steal My Sunshine' by Len and insists I play it every time we get in the car. I used to love it too but am getting a bit sick of it now!!!

I had to re think my choices in the car when dd said 'I really like this mum what is it called' It was 'White Punks on Dope'

dd loves Kt Tunstall, Black Horse and Cherry Tree
And anything Coldplay

Unfortunately, 'Push the Button' and Britney Spears' 'Toxic'.

DS's playlist includes:

Makes a nice change from Postman Pat etc.

And i must admit when he saw Son Of Dork on TV the other week he started dancing and said 'this is cool'! The shame of it.

DS1 started guitar lessons last week and came home very excited that the tutor had played the White Stripes as a demostration. Him and DS2 both like the Darkness, Red Hot Chili Peppers etc but then we only really listen to radio stations such as XFM, so they haven't had the opportunity to listen to pop stuff

However, now they've got into Dick and Dom, and that's followed by ToTP Reloaded so they've started to like stuff such as Son of Dork, Busted etc. It drives Dh barmy, but there's worse things they could like - at least they pretend to be a band!

dd1 and 2 love Boards of Canada (very leftfield, electronica, weird soundscapes)

Dd loves Oasis, The who. At the moment she loves The Zutons and the Kaiser Chiefs, especially I predict a riot!

My DS1 (6) and DS2 (5) love Red Hot Chilli Peppers especially By The way and Californication. Also quite like Scissor sistes too. DS3 (2) is yet to discover and appreciate my music yet!

Keane is dd's favourite, but she's also partial to a bit of Coldplay, Madness and The Teardrop Explodes.

in dh's car, she sings along to blitzkrieg bob (sp?), can't remember who its by but the track after it on the cd is another she sings.

its called beat up the brat..........i'm not happy about that one at all!!

Ds loves Lemon Jelly,New Order and all the stuff we listen to really...very encouraging !

My kids (7-11) love Kaiser Chiefs, Blur, Scissor Sisters - v eclectic. The one that really annoys me though is the Black Eyed Peas ' my humps' - ffs ' my hump, my lovely lady lumps - whatcha gonna do with all those lumps etc...' aaaaaah!

How are they going to rebel?

Surely it would be better to only listen to Val Doonican or Cliff Richard now so that when they are hormonally obliged to despise us and everything we stand for at the age of 13, they can rebel in the right direction!

I have visions of DS1 and 2 suddenly wanting strange half mast baggy jeans, and insisting on listening to KissFm at full volume

DD loves "left outside alone" by Anastasia. She is always humming it to her little self

Wow -I see White Stripes are very popular amongst our kids including my DD. She also likes Franz Ferdinand and used to request it every time we got in the car.
Serenity, I worry too about what her rebellion will be (knowing my luck it'll be something like Westlife -sorry any Westlife fans but its just not my thing! )
