Dd1 absolutely LOVES 'Steal My Sunshine' by Len and insists I play it every time we get in the car. I used to love it too but am getting a bit sick of it now!!!

DD likes The Rembrandts "I'll be there for you" and anything by Guns N Roses or Linkin Park.

FlameRobin · 05/12/2005 22:11

DD's fave is Puddle of Mudd - she hates me... really need to get the edited version to play her though . She loves any Papa Roach too, and slower Greenday ones soothe her to sleep

HappyMumof2TurtleDoves · 05/12/2005 22:14

ds (6) likes the current Kaiser Chiefs one
dd (2) likes Sugarbabes, Push the Button, and dances to prove it!

lanismum · 05/12/2005 23:35

dd (9months) seems to love subways, and she headbangs to machinehead and bullet for my valentine when my brother plays them to her, im pleased she probably wont like mainstream music when shes older!!

serenitysaysHoHoHo · 05/12/2005 23:59

Aaaaah, that makes much more sense bea. Tbh I never get lyrics right, because I never expect them to make any sense anyway! Just sing along loudly in the car.

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 06/12/2005 00:39

DS1 likes lots of DH's Christian Rock stuff - and the other day in the car said to him - turn the volume up......so he did (just a little), a little while later - turn it up a bit more and open the windows...........then he told DH to drive really fast - he's only 6 - and I said to DH he's NOT getting driving lessons for his 17th birthday if that's what he's like now LOL.

gingerbear · 06/12/2005 00:46

My brother in law's sons grew up listening to punk, the Beatles and Neil Young. They now like....Punk, The beatles and Neil Young, Dad (48) and sons (22 and 18) often go to the same gigs together. So much for the generation gap. BIL knows more about new bands than sons do.

DD loves The Clash and The Pogues.

chipmonksRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 06/12/2005 00:54

ds1 is 9 now but at 18 months he loved "Sex on the beach" and that one that went "I'm horny, horny, horny, horny!"

eldestgirl · 06/12/2005 03:05

Keane, the Wombles, and especially Bad Day by Daniel Powter. They have their own playlist on i-tunes so I don't have to keep changing the CD!

bobbybob · 06/12/2005 03:51

Bob is currently mad about KT Tunstall, or "that lady" as he calls her.

OhlittletownofEIDSVOLD · 06/12/2005 05:31

dd1 loves Black Betty, anything AC/DC or U2

harpsiheraldangelssing · 06/12/2005 07:47

dd1 (2.5) loves McFly and Kaiser Chiefs
and When September Comes by Green Day
she also always ends up knowing whatever choral piece I am learning just because it is on all the time, which is very sweet to hear her singing in Latin
although at the moment it is bloody jingle bells all the way

ISawFrannyandZooeyKissingSanta · 06/12/2005 08:46

Ds (2.5) has just discovered the Velvet Underground and was heard recently singing "kiss the boot of shiny, shiny leather". He really likes reggae and one of his first words was "Barley" (Bob Marley!). More modern stuff: the Go Team, Air, Kasabian.

He also likes anything that his hero Paul the busker sings: his current favourite is "I shot the sheriff...but I did not shoot the derberry."

BudaBabeInAManger · 06/12/2005 08:54

DS (4) loves Tom Petty - I kid you not! DH got me the original Live Aid DVD last Xmas and we played it and DS loved Tom Petty - can do every move he does before he does it!

Also liked Bob Geldof! Didn't recognise him on this year's Live 8. Said "Is that a different Bob Geldof?" "No - he's just 20 years older" I said. "But why Mummy - you're not!!"" Bless!

Told me the other day that Robbie Williams isn't "cool"!

hativity · 06/12/2005 09:01

Ours love the first song on the Scissor Sisters album (give me your love, I think it's called) they call it clown music (they have a point). They also love the Rolling Stones, (played VERY loud by dh) Cheb Khaled, and Penguin Cafe Orchestra. (both played by me and always danced to, dd does a very good wiggle to Khaled)

teeavee · 06/12/2005 09:03

pmsl at franny+Zooey's DS singing velvet S+M song!!!!

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 06/12/2005 09:05

Dd sings 'Something in the way' by Nirvana, she always wants to know what's in his way!

She liked that 'You've had a Bad Day' which was overplayed here time and time again! She could never understand why I just couldn't play it on the radio for her!

harpsiheraldangelssing · 06/12/2005 09:07

yes franny that's not kinky at all....

ISawFrannyandZooeyKissingSanta · 06/12/2005 10:09

Do you mean the Velvet Underground weren't nice clean-living young people?
