Yes, after the worst 6 months of my life. I have a proper date with a man. Yep, I'm excited!

Met him last night at my neighbours and he texted this morning after asking them for my number!

I. HAVE. A. DATE!

Just seen this one, Rhuby! Well I've decided not to go after talking to him last night. I said I wasn't ready for all that quality time together and that I was still emotionally raw following on from ex-dp. He is a lovely guy but the more I think about it the less ready I am for it all.

On the other hand, he has made me realise that I am attractive etc. That's been good for my low self esteem. I'm still going to see him this Friday night for a few drinks in town but am not ready for a trip away yet.

I know y'all think I'm mad not going but the other fact was knowing I'm not ready for a physical relationship yet. Sooo, if he's worth it, he'll wait and if he's not, there will be another one somewhere down the line who will wait.

I don't think you are mad, I did but I don't now.

I too thought it was moving a bit quickly, but I was unwilling to burst your bubble as I don't know you well enough.

My Dad has a great expression for the start of new relationships, hasten sllllloooooooooooowly..........

Hadn't read this thred before Amanda! Godd on you - he sounds nice. You deserve it after the last few months.

But - hate to be a cynical sod - glad you decided against the NY trip. That would be way too fast IMHO.

You deserve a bit of fun right now - keep it light-hearted and fun for a while till you are sure of him. Suggesting a trip to NY after one date seems a bit OTT to me.

what an exciting thread - hope you don't mind me joining in and wishing you lots of luck. I think it was a really wise move to say no to the New York trip, (but goodness, I'd have found it hard to resist that shopping opportunity - you are a better woman than me!). I am sure this man, if he is worth his salt, will be impressed with your decision to hold back.
