SNOWaMANda · 04/12/2005 11:30

Yes, after the worst 6 months of my life. I have a proper date with a man. Yep, I'm excited!

Met him last night at my neighbours and he texted this morning after asking them for my number!

I. HAVE. A. DATE!

Thanks, NP, I'll probably post something post date on late Saturday night! Also slightly drunken. I shouldn't be so excited about one date but he seems ok. My opinion of men is low but I've got to take the risk sometime.

Fantastic - very exciting. Your outfit sounds great - I'd definitely go with skirt & top. Nothing to over the top but enough to show you've made an effort.
Soooooooooooooo excited for you.

handlemecarefully · 07/12/2005 11:06

What's he like? Describe him...

SNOWaMANda · 07/12/2005 11:10

He's tall dark and handsome!

Ok, maybe not, but he's lovely and easy to talk to and we hit it off straight away at the weekend. He makes me laugh, makes me feel good about myself and seems to like me!

Skirt and top it is then. I've seen some fab shoes that will go with my skirt!

dont hold back on getting dressed up amanda, go for it and you will feel FABULOUS

he sounds lovely

SNOWaMANda · 07/12/2005 11:13

He called last night and we chatted for a while about all sorts of random rubbish to be honest. He seems to be decent and is doing the right thing by his ex-wife and kids and that says a lot to me.

I'm soooo excited and nervous at the same time!

OP posts:
handlemecarefully · 07/12/2005 11:18

He sounds rather nice

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 07/12/2005 11:24

Best of luck!

The 18th is either with or without. Most of us will be without, but I think there are 2 bringing theirs.

SNOWaMANda · 07/12/2005 11:27

I hope he is, hmc, I really do!

I'll be without as her dad is taking her to the party. Not sure how to get there yet but will email you and sort!

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 07/12/2005 11:35

YorkieGirl might be going, why not text her and see how she's getting there? Gingerbear is from your way too I think.

SNOWaMANda · 07/12/2005 11:38

Good idea! Looking forward to it!

Rhuby, need to say, thanks for all your help (well, apart from saying I might look like a prozzie!) in recent months. You've been so supportive, friendly, kind and understanding. You've help me more than a lot of RL friends. You're fab!

OP posts:
CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 07/12/2005 15:09

I did NOT say you might look like a prozzie!!! I just had this image of someone turning up in jeans and killer high heels! lol! Should have known that you are too classy for that!

And don't thank me, thank yourself for being such a strong person, one of those people that makes me wonder where they draw all this strength from! For refusing to allow your ex to grind you down, for refusing to give up. You've a lot to be proud of!

SNOWaMANda · 07/12/2005 16:45

Far too classy (I hope)!

Thanks again for what you've just said. I'm trying to become a better person from that horrid experience. I am looking forward to my date and seeing if someone could fancy me again and not make me feel like rubbish.

Anyway, he sent me flowers today that my neighbour took in for me today. With a card that said "looking forward to the weekend". Bless his heart! White roses and something else.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 07/12/2005 20:33

Blimey! If you don't want him then I'll have him!

SNOWaMANda · 07/12/2005 21:32

I am in trouble - I have found mint chocolate digestive biscuits. I am gonna be the size of a very big house by the weekend at the rate I'm scoffing them.

It might not be me not wanting him - it'll be the other way around!

OP posts:
CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 07/12/2005 21:35

He saw you as you are at your friend's, and he liked what he saw! He's hardly going to change his mind now is he?

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 07/12/2005 21:36

Pass us a biscuit will ya?

SNOWaMANda · 07/12/2005 23:43

Ok, ok, good point. Not sharing my biscuits either!

Just been on phone with him - have forgotten how good it is to be excited about anything! Plus I'd forgotten I know how to have fun and a laugh!

It's all good at the moment

SNOWaMANda · 09/12/2005 08:11

It's tomorrow! It's tomorrow!!

OP posts:
LadySherlockofLGJ · 09/12/2005 08:26

I have only just seen this, enjoy yourself you deserve it.

SNOWaMANda · 09/12/2005 09:22

Thanks, LGJ!

I am very excited as you'd probably guessed! Have spoken to him a bit this week and we seem to get along and it all seems positive! I am just soooo nervous!

Just spoke to my friend who said "just be yourself"! Easier said than done when I'm nervous!!

Misspiggy · 09/12/2005 13:44

So....are you having a lonnnnnng bath tonight and doing the works pampering yourself?! He sounds lovely - good for you, but we don't want to hear any of that "out of my league" business! OK?! Have a wonderful time - can't wait for the update.

SNOWaMANda · 09/12/2005 14:21

Getting my nails done tonight and then a night of pampering awaits.

And, ok, perhaps not out of my league but given my track record he seems far too good in comparison!

OP posts:
CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 09/12/2005 14:36

Is it tonight?

SNOWaMANda · 09/12/2005 14:40

It's tomorrow - he's picking me up at 730! Dinner at 930 so I'll probably be drunk by then!!

No, not really .... am not getting drunk (famous last words)!
