Why Do I react this way when I talk to people who have more money than sense????

There are 2 people in my life that clearly have no money worries whatsoever. Evidence being:

1)They NEVER know how much anything costs. It just doesn't matter to them.

2)They won't even consider buying clothes or anything thats in a Sale...as it must be 'last season'.

3)They get themselves into serious financial trouble..... but their parents bail them out..... therefore they don't even see the situations as serious!

Now.... I've found myself getting really short with them. One is a very close friend, the other is a work colleague.

I actually get a nervous twitch if one of them says the words "I'm skint". They are not that wealthy BTW.... they just don't care about money as they always know someone will sort out their problems.

I don't think I'm jealous.... but then why else would I be reacting this way.

I;ll give you an example:

Coleague (lets call her Jan): I really need a new Computer Desk. Where else can I look online apart from John Lewis???

Me: Eh... what about Argos or Ikea?

Jan blanks me and turns to someone else: Have you got any ideas?

Me: Why don't you want to look at Ikea or Argos.

Jan smiles and rolls her eyes: Oh I know, I'll try Habitat and Next!

Me: Okay....if you don't like my 1st suggestions what about MFI?

Jan smiles patronisingly: I just don't like furniture out of those kind of places.

Me (nervous twitch in full throttle): Why not? Are you rrrreally that much of a snob!!?

Jan (shocked look): I'm not a snob!! I just like the finer things in life.

Me: HA! You're a snob.

Then I carry on with work and she goes onto purchase a £15 million Gold plated Computer Desk with built in NASA technology.... I presume.

Am I bitter????? Or does anyone else share my irritation at people who are such SNOBS about things!!!!?

PHEW.... that feels better!

I had an ex friend like this, pots of money (cleaner, paid for huge house extension outright no extra mortgage) but was always pretending to have no money. Then she would come how with hugely snobbish things like worringly if buying a macalaren pushchair was a bit like shopping at matalan. So I told her my pushchair cost half of what a maclaren one did (she had started to boast abou how cheap her one was) and matalan was great. It shut her up momentarily but then people like that have no tact and she started up again anyway next time.

LOL! Did our usual charity shop trawl this morning, and scored a 4 drawer chest of drawers from Argos for £25+£6 delivery. Bonus! Just when we were looking for a chest of drawers for the new baby.

Also scored 4 jars for my next batches of flavoured liqueurs and sugars - £2 for the lot.

Feeling pleased as punch right about now .
