My inferiority as a driver has reached new lows. I have just pranged our car AGAIN. I deserve no sympathy but please go on and give me some...

...er, that's it, really.

Still blame the other guy but that's not the POINT.

Car is DP's pride and joy. And we will drive to his mother's funeral in a wreck on Monday.

Have stopped shaking but still not fearfully chipper.

Much sympathy. Are you OK?

GhostofNatt · 25/11/2005 12:25

You poor thing, mi. Have some cake immediately.

But think - at least you ahve a license...

motherinferior · 25/11/2005 12:25

Yes, apart from Coruscating Shame.

Prufrock · 25/11/2005 12:25

Oh sweetie - of course it was his fault. Go and get some Maya Gold from the cupboard and it will all seem better.

HRHWickedwaterwitch · 25/11/2005 12:26

Oh no. But you're ok, that's the main thing. Bet you are much more dp's pride and joy than the car!

hunkermunker · 25/11/2005 12:26

Big wodges of cake all round. What happened?

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 25/11/2005 12:27

It was soooo his fault! When I was learning to drive, my bro offered to take me round in his pride and joy. I got in and promptly drove into the parked car on the opposite side of the road!

Enid · 25/11/2005 12:27

are you ok

have you rung insurance people?

remember to sketch little diagram

tabitha · 25/11/2005 12:27

Sympathy from me too, MI.
I have had fair few accidents - most of them the other person's fault (HONEST ).
Hope your okay and just remember as long as you're not hurt, that's the main thing. People are much more important than cars.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 25/11/2005 12:28

Neither was it my fault! The car simply should't have been parked in a place where I could hit it!

motherinferior · 25/11/2005 12:28

Lorry didn't quite manage to squeeze past. Driver pointed out I was in the middle of the road and "not even straight" and I should have been way back. Er, yes, but shouldn't he have reversed when he realised he couldn't get past, and/or worked something out with me (it wasn't that narrow a road)? But that's not the point.

DP suggests Refresher Classes pointing out this is the third or fourth time I've inflicted GBH on the sodding vehicle.

I cried and cried and cried and shook.

GhostofNatt · 25/11/2005 12:29

ah, good point, do a diagram and write a description of what happened. And date it. Was there anyone arpound who witnesesed it, just in case?

Enid · 25/11/2005 12:29

so he reversed into you?

then its his fault whatever

motherinferior · 25/11/2005 12:29

Have all details, DP will sort out insurance stuff.

DD2 blissfully unaware.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 25/11/2005 12:29

So you were stationary and he hit you? His fault

motherinferior · 25/11/2005 12:29

He squeezed past and banged the sticking-out back of my car.

OP posts:
HRHWickedwaterwitch · 25/11/2005 12:30

Oh sweetie, don't worry. I know that scary feeling when you shake and are full of adrenaline, it's horrible. Lorry drivers are all arses, it's part of the training. So he tried to make you feel inferior and because you were already lacking in confidence he succeeded. Tosser. Wish I'd have been there to get shouty on your behalf and show him what for!

Enid · 25/11/2005 12:31

a white van man reversed into me a few months ago and hit the front of my car - very scary when you can see it is going to happen and there is nothing you can do

you need chocoalte NOw

If you were stationary and he hit you it's his fault, surely. It sounds like it anyway.

clary · 25/11/2005 12:32

MI that sounds like it was his fault. Can't see from your descrip how you were to blame.
Hope you are OK.
Was dd2 in car? Does this mean replacing car seat (groan...)

motherinferior · 25/11/2005 12:32

OH thank you. Shall go and get choc and feed both dd2 and me and return anon.

Cannot tell you how much you have made me feel a bit better (sounds like Lola off Charlie and Lola, doesn't it).

OP posts:
wilbur · 25/11/2005 12:32

Oh how horrid, MI - bloody lorries. And remember the main thing is that no one was hurt, it's just a car and accidents happen. hat's what insurance is for.

HRHWickedwaterwitch · 25/11/2005 12:33

Issymum, are we allowed to laugh at that? Sorry but I sniggered at the picture you painted.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 25/11/2005 12:33

See MI? We've all been there! And I agree that this was totally not your fault! His insurance will have to pay! Hot chocolate helps for shock.
