My inferiority as a driver has reached new lows. I have just pranged our car AGAIN. I deserve no sympathy but please go on and give me some...

...er, that's it, really.

Still blame the other guy but that's not the POINT.

Car is DP's pride and joy. And we will drive to his mother's funeral in a wreck on Monday.

Have stopped shaking but still not fearfully chipper.

poor thing

look at it this way - you've just selflessly given all your dp's family something to focus on at the funeral, making a difficult time easier by diffusing the high emotional moments but without appearing distasteful or inapppropriate.

It takes such skill and caring to be that generous...

Phillipat, that is a brilliant point. Fellow mother at the school gates (who is also, somewhat embarrassingly, my GP) pointed out we could alternatively hire an incredibly flash car just for the day to divert them.

Incidentally I have also managed, today, to (a) pull the blackout blind in the Inferiorettes' room out of its socket and out of the wall (b) stop my watch - I mean I didn't make it stop but I realised, at around the time we were supposed to get DD1 to school this morning, that it had stopped 10 minutes ago (c) fail dismally to get the video to work, while attempting the usual get-out option of the Jungle Book. The physical world is clearly just not my milieu, today, is it.
