ThomCat · 01/11/2005 18:06

well the whole world hates the name Ziggy which is what D and i keep toying with for a girl and lots of people don't like Kasper which is waht we really like for a boy.

DinoIsBack · 01/11/2005 18:07

Why is everyone on mn obsessing about names?? I've just come back and am very confused!

JoolsToo · 01/11/2005 18:08

Ziggy played guitar

SoupDragon · 01/11/2005 18:09

Because we can, Dino

iota · 01/11/2005 18:09

wasn't Ziggy Stardust a bloke?

JoolsToo · 01/11/2005 18:10

yes and he jammed it good with Weird and Gilly

AND the spiders from Mars

iota · 01/11/2005 18:13

the good old days Jools

JoolsToo · 01/11/2005 18:15

absolootamont!

harpsichordcarrier · 01/11/2005 18:15

sorry Thomcat I do like Casper, only that I know 3 cats called it
Saskia I like

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2005 18:17

I still want a Steinbeck but I think the chance is minimal

bubbaloo · 01/11/2005 18:35

I also love Casper, but when we had ds,dh said there was no way he was going to be named after a ghost-even a friendly one!!!

BadHair · 01/11/2005 18:37

Lola, Molly, Lily or Ella. They were on my list had my dses been dds, but friends have now used them up so if I ever do have a dd I'll have to think of something else.
MIL even used one of them for a hamster.

munz · 01/11/2005 18:39

dino - think it's my fault for asking about uncomon but tradtional names - and we're still no bloody closer to deciding after 300 posts!

Enid · 01/11/2005 18:41

I know a casper but they are German

a big no to Ziggy though sorry TC

Ellbell · 01/11/2005 21:38

I know two Caspers, though they are both German too (or half German). Like the name though. I also know a (male) Zyg (but never Ziggy).

Munz... Dino is short for (or, more precisely, a diminutive form of) Corrado in Italian. Do you like Corrado? (Or Conrad?)

Ellbell · 01/11/2005 21:40

Ooops, Munz . Just realised you were talking to DinoIsBack, not saying you liked the name Dino!!!!

Gem13 · 01/11/2005 21:41

DS is at playschool with 2 Conrads! I can't believe that a child called Conrad has to undergo the indignity of being a 'Conrad X' to differentiate him from 'Conrad Y'. Jack yes but Conrad?!

laughinglil · 01/11/2005 21:41

ziggy is the bloke you never see out of quantum leap ? If anyone remembers that!

I really, really, really wish I'd thought of Anton - I think it's a fabulous name. Just didn't occur to me. And it would go with our surname.

princesspeahead · 01/11/2005 22:02

well I think I've just agreed on a name (well three actually - first and two middles) for next babe with dh!

now going to muse on it for the next 2.5 months and see how it feels. v excited though!

And none of them have been on any of those lists I don't think
