Tea Room the Twelfth

Come in, come in, to Tea Room the Twelfth! We now inhabit a rambling log cabin, surrounded by mysterious pine forests and mist-covered mountains (but also, strangely) easily accessible by regulars, new-comers and passing bishops, ferried in by Mellors driving the troika. All the usual rules apply and all are welcome!

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the NMB's aren't very naked (well, most of them at least) and look quite fetching in their riding hats, jodphurs and riding boots with their little crops....

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/01/2010 14:45

I would love a hot chocolate and to get my hands on one of Mellors' buns a slice of Amber's Interesting Surprise Cake.

amberlight · 12/01/2010 14:54

I'm pretty sure I have a picture of Twinkle somewhere!

Spent much of today out on site in the not-as-snowy-as-here wilds of Surrey, meeting with a developer. Now back in the office, watching cars piroetting across the supermarket car parks

PandaEis · 12/01/2010 15:07

MT my behind is rather large i woul;d need a pony the size of an elephant to accomodate it comfortably well thats a touch of exaggeration but you get my drift i am on the case with my diet though...4lb this week and counting

i had an alsation when i was a little'un her name was sheba and she liked to eat bees and bluebottles... maybe wasps??

mistlethrush · 12/01/2010 15:13

PandaEis - I'm sure the right horse would be OK - something nice and cobby or possibly with a bit of shire thrown in (rode a shire x at one stables in Wales - absolutely adorable!) Might have to join you on weight loss somewhere - have you a nice friendly thread anywhere?

Amber - it is a small world isn't it!

PandaEis · 12/01/2010 15:42

i dont but it might be nice to have a tea room diet one maybe look at me i only arrived a few days ago and im already stealing the good tea room name for my fat arse removal thread

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/01/2010 15:51

PandaEis - I would be very interested to hear any tips or advice on painless ways to shrink one's butt regain one's previously svelte figure. How have you lost 4lbs in a week?

mistlethrush · 12/01/2010 15:53

MadBad - me too

PandaEis · 12/01/2010 16:09

i have been doing a loose version of this and i have been following it and eating as much of the food on the list as i like and drinking black tea. it seems gruelling but it is actually very easy to stick to i did this for 2 weeks before my wedding and lost 26lb as im not sticking religiously to it it isnt restricted to a 2 week slot so i am following it for as long as i can keep it up as i have about 4-5 stone to shift

teafortwo · 12/01/2010 17:26

For Inernational Racingsnake is great day Mellors has organised beautiful fireworks in the garden....

Oooooooohhhh aaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!

Pooooooouuuuufffff

teafortwo · 12/01/2010 17:30

amberlight · 12/01/2010 17:33

It was hell finding a cake board long enough

mistlethrush · 12/01/2010 17:37

Ah. Not great for me as I'm vege. And I'd need to eat less than that to lose that much weight unfortunately. Even contemplating going and seeing if the Dr can add any assistance as I do seem to be able to not lose weight so sucessfully, even when extra specially good.

HallelujahHeisBorntoMary · 12/01/2010 17:52

Admit it Amber, the "cake board" is a plank from your work, covered in green paper!

I could do with some cake... DH has phoned to say he'll be late, even though he'd planned to be home on time. Work has gone belly up again!

RacingSnake · 12/01/2010 18:56

Racingsnake is overcome and speechless at Inernational Racingsnake is great day. Leaves smudgy note of overwhelmed thanks on the table pinned to the cakeboard among the crumbs of Ambers' Amazing Cake, sobs, and locks herself in the priesthole to recover, marvelling how diligent it was of Mellors to excavate above refuge when the ground is frozen solid.

MT poo!! i went the GP a while back and he was the biggest arsewipe EVER!! he said that as i dont have a particularly fat-filled diet and i have a thyroid problem (underactive) it would be hard to lose weight whilst still eating food his suggestion was to give up eating altogether if i want to be thin i will do a search for you as my mum is veggie and has done a similar diet without the meat in the past and did well on it

amberlight · 12/01/2010 19:55

I'll have you know that we couldn't afford real paper for the plank - we had to paint it using left-over school railings paint but it did the job

Arrgh re work thingy for your dh, Mary.

Panda, he advised you to give up food?!? Nothing strange about doctors, eh?

I am, er, a little cuddly. But dh says he likes cuddly, which is good , though we're on the S diet - Soup, Salad, sandwiches and Soddit-we're-too-hungry-lets-eat-the-cheese-anyway.

PandaEis · 12/01/2010 19:57

this is the veggie version of the same diet i lose weight VERY slowly even when starving myself and this diet works for me worth a go

UniS · 12/01/2010 20:04

snow snow snow. and yet more snow. The ballet techer made it to village hall , but only 3 pupils from baby class, so she taught them, and as it seemed none of the bigger kids were in veiw she was going to call it a day. I guess we are just mean mums making our 3 yr olds walk down the village in a blizzard. The bigger kids maybe rebel louder.

Dh got home early (3pm) saying that teh top road had drift across. So I'm hoping he takes a snow day tomorrow and we go sledgeing again.

Cat- how is chilly mexico? are the gingernuts warming you up yet.

I bring you, tea room cinnamon scones. calorie free, fat burning, and utterly yummy. go very well with a cuppa.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/01/2010 21:19

Cinnamon scones? They sound great.

It's several hours (depending which time zone you're in) until International Racingsnake Is Great Day is over, so I'll lower a scone and glass of Bolly into the priest hole.

Would anyone else like a glass?

UniS · 12/01/2010 21:31

LOL at S diet. bit like teh see food diet then? If I were skinny I'd freeze. AND not be such a good goalie as there would be less of me for the ball to hit.

Hurrah for Raceing Snake, shes FAB.

mistlethrush · 12/01/2010 22:28

I do a low carb diet where the only carbs apart from veg are some oats for breakfast. And I can lose weight on it. Trouble is, when I eat anything remotely normal I then end up putting on weight again!

Glass of bolly would be great, thanks. Oh, and some of those slimming crisps. And that piece of slimming cake over there....

CMOTdibbler · 13/01/2010 08:56

I'm doing the Special K 2 week kick start diet - cereal for 2 meals a day, and a healthy other meal. Seems to be working really well as have lost 1.5kg in a week, and am not hungry

Have had more snow here - DH was supposed to be at a meeting today, but decided after taking DS to nursery that it was all far too slippery with further snow today to venture too far

mistlethrush · 13/01/2010 09:27

Racing

Silly I know, but I hadn't read the OP properly on the granny annex post. Did you know I'm actually a planning consultant? Let me know if you need some advice!

teafortwo · 13/01/2010 10:39

Yikes!!!!

MadameElderlyneighbour that we always make a special effort to be nice to because she is old knocked on our door this morning and said "Do you have a dog now?" (Eccles ran out tail wagging to confirm - yes) followed by "Watch out. I am going to tell the police and if they do nothing I will poison it!"
