Tea room the 5th - welcome to the yurt

Welcome to the tea room. A warm welcome to everyone, whether you have one child, none, or ten. This is a tea-and-muffin or booze-and-sofasorcanapees sanctuary for all. But certain standards of behaviour continue to apply - anyone engaging in fisticuffs will be ejected by George Clooney, ably assisted by Mellors the Gardener.

You have found us- did you like teh slide/ bridge over teh HaHa. Teh priest hole is still available, its just over there.

Mellors and I have erected the yurt, strewn rugs around and good a good fire going in the wood burner. The place is feeling toasty and warm with not a draft to be felt. The kettle is now singing away on the hob. selection of teas for all taste on the shelf along with the hand made by potters mugs. Mellors very ably fitted teh yurt window with a window sill onto which can be placed a selection of pot plants and george.

Can someone sort out RP ( who I think came over with the sofa) and plump up the hay pile for donk.

OOhh is bolly on the go now? I'm in!

T42 - hello - congratulations to milk on getting into the bilingual school! What was the entrance assessment like - or was there one at all? MJ was taken off by one of the class teachers - he told me that he'd played with the kitchen and that was about it - although he had been away for more or less 30mins!

UniS · 20/03/2009 22:30

heeeelp- give me bolly, and anything else that is on offer. arrrrghhhh.

have just had to sneak into boys room to remove extra blankets from under his bed. in laws want 2 beds, we only have one spare duvet....
NOthing broken at washing up but MiL huffy when I told her to slow down, and rejected a few items as not washed - ie garlic press still full of garlic.

remind me it only till tomoorww...

T42 I have to admit that if I've missed more than 2 pages I don't go back any further than that, usually, unless it's impossible to understand without doing so!

It's because we're all such nice literate people who write full sentences with lots of choice words of a good kind etc. - there's so much to read and sometimes there just isn't the time!

Amber - have you thought about using a skateboard under MrsA's leg to help her get about? You could try gently strapping her to it and see how she gets on? Much sympathy on trying to lift her - I couldn't do it (and yet if I had to I probably would and just take the consequences, much like with DS)

So! we're on our way to a Bedouin TeaRoom with attached Spa and Priesthole, have I got that right? Or did we lose some bits on the way? I'm all for having a traditional little tearoom - there was (is?) a fabulous little place in Woodstock that I always think of as the archetypal tearoom - it has links with Agatha Christie's Miss Marple but whether it's because they used it for filming or AC herself went there while she was writing, I can't remember. Fab place though - they recommended which type of tea one ought to have with what type of food - so, Assam for one, Ceylon for another etc. Be great if I could remember which!

Cheers!

And a VERY LARGE G&T to UniS - smile, breathe, think of tomorrow evening, smile, breathe, think of tomorrow evening, smile, breathe, think of tomorrow evening - repeat as necessary.

mistlethrush · 20/03/2009 22:35

UniS - here is a glass of bolly - and a strong g&t as well - and some lavender oil - that's meant ot be good for stress isn't it?

We have the same problem with FiL - have to pass plates etc back for a second go. Its a start if he uses hot water, washing up liquid and a bit of elbow grease!

teafortwo · 20/03/2009 22:50

mt - We had to answer lots of questions about Milk then she went off to play with the teacher - they built a park with lego and chatted about what to do. Next they did a sorting game with different coloured animals. They chatted about animal names, colours and counted in French and English then put them in the right holes - while I drifted away into my novel in the waiting room for twenty minutes!

unis - smile and nod, smile and nod!!!

Thumbwitch - fab tip! Thanks.

Would you all join me in a little song?

To the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas", please...

On the first day of spring JM sent to Catita ONE box of Spice Snaps TWO boxes of Anna's Swedish Ginger Cookies and FIVE rolls of McVitie's Gingernuts to arrive by airmail as soon as possible and help with and homesickness.

Thank you all, that was, ahem, lovely...

Jacksmama · 20/03/2009 23:57

And Catita, the shop where I got the McVitie's is minutes away from my work, so please, no need to ration - just let me know when you run out and I will post more.

I've just been looking at the photos we took this afternoon - we went to Hampton Court Palace to see the daffodil fields and discovered that the rear formal gardens were also open, free of charge until 1st April! I haven't been in the rear gardens since they started charging for them and DH never has so it was a real bonus.

It was such another lovely sunny day that we have some lovely photos but far and away the best one is DS running free on the grass! Bless.
