Tea room the 5th - welcome to the yurt

Welcome to the tea room. A warm welcome to everyone, whether you have one child, none, or ten. This is a tea-and-muffin or booze-and-sofasorcanapees sanctuary for all. But certain standards of behaviour continue to apply - anyone engaging in fisticuffs will be ejected by George Clooney, ably assisted by Mellors the Gardener.

You have found us- did you like teh slide/ bridge over teh HaHa. Teh priest hole is still available, its just over there.

Mellors and I have erected the yurt, strewn rugs around and good a good fire going in the wood burner. The place is feeling toasty and warm with not a draft to be felt. The kettle is now singing away on the hob. selection of teas for all taste on the shelf along with the hand made by potters mugs. Mellors very ably fitted teh yurt window with a window sill onto which can be placed a selection of pot plants and george.

Can someone sort out RP ( who I think came over with the sofa) and plump up the hay pile for donk.

You-ho.... tea please... and some flapjack too!

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 17/03/2009 15:08

Oh, sorry, Catita, didn't see you come in.

How are you today? Here's a fresh cup of tea and lovely home-made flapjack. Enjoy!

Catitainahatita · 17/03/2009 15:23

Thanks very much.

I see Mellors has got the lawnmower going. Although I think he ought to be sat on it by now, otherwise it's going to take off on its own...

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 17/03/2009 16:06

Oh dear.

Catitainahatita · 17/03/2009 16:10

I'd go and help you Madbad. But as they say "three's a crowd".

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 17/03/2009 16:14

Blush Wink Blush Wink

mistlethrush · 17/03/2009 16:58

Is Mellors OK Madbad, you were out a very long time!

daisy99divine · 17/03/2009 16:59

MadBad be very careful!

warn Mellors about the Monk who was run over and killed by his ride on mower!!!

you need to keep him very safe - perhaps you need to wrap your arms around him....

....Actually, steady on missus....

daisy99divine · 17/03/2009 17:00

I need a cuppa and a flapjack too!

Slumps on the bentwood rocker

amber32002 · 17/03/2009 17:19

Ah, another normal day in the yurt, I see

What ARE Madbad and Mellors...oh... gosh, goodness me. And in view of the visitors from the EcoFriendlyGardens project, too !!

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 17/03/2009 17:30

Yes, it did take a while didn't it? I had to rub arnica cream into some of Mellors' bruises. And then we were practising our rumba routine for the South American scene in Tea Room Yurt: The Movie. Were you impressed, Daisy and Amber? We're actually getting quite proficient, if I say so myself.

Hmmm. I wonder whether the problem with the ride-on mower is that its engine needs decoking.

UniS · 17/03/2009 17:59

Now that was odd, had just settled onto other armchair to join you in a littel bird watching when CHHHONK noise came from RL kitchen !!! boy is in bed awaiting his father return from work _ no I don't know whyin bed either but that is where he took himself off to. and no one is on teh kitchen .... have investigated but nothing seems to have dropped, brioken or otherwise mangled itself.
If DH isn; home in 3 minutes I shall end up missing yoga AGAIN. hurmph.

I reckon its big end's gone, myself.

UniS, no yoga if he's not back in time? Drat. Double drat.

Quite a day. Rushed back and forth with DS to physio and school review etc, and meantime the carpet cleaners locked dh out of the house . Think we need a small glass of something to get over days like this. Anyone for a wee drop of Vino?

Jacksmama · 17/03/2009 19:26

MadBad, was that simply the rhumba or the horizontal rhumba? [cheeky ]
Just wondering because of the grass bits in your hair...

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 17/03/2009 20:13

The big end's gone, Amber? That sounds like an expensive trip to the garage.

UniS - I remember that waiting by the front door, ready to race out as soon as beloved life partner gets home. I got used to arriving at whatever event it was 10 minutes after it had started. Harrumph.

Jacksmama - It was a choreography rehearsal for the forthcoming movie. What else would we be doing down by the haha?

Excellent suggestion to have some wine, Amber. Is there any white wine there?

Donk · 17/03/2009 20:41

Hmmm
That rumba looked pretty horizontal to me MBDTK...

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 17/03/2009 20:48

No, no, no. We were just rehearsing for the film. We were upright at all times.

CMOTdibbler · 17/03/2009 20:52

Goodness me. All the excitement that I missed whilst I was shopping working.

I realised yesterday that I just didn't want to wear the outfit I had decided on for Saturday, and actually wanted to wear my corset. And I didn't have a long skirt to wear with it, nor a shrug that really covered enough skin for a round table dinner. Hence a small amount of emergency online shopping today

I have some rather nice olives, and some very cheeky brie on offer

Donk · 17/03/2009 20:54
Hmm
MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 17/03/2009 20:57

Corset, Cmot? It's obviously going to be quite a saucy outfit. Please tell us more.

CMOTdibbler · 17/03/2009 21:04

The corset isn't very saucy - long line (to hips), black velvet, comes right over the bust. Just like a normal bodice really - except for the wonderful construction and steel boning which takes 4" off my waist and gives me the in and out figure Mother Nature forgot to donate.

Skirt is a black fishtail to the floor, shrug has long sleeves and crosses over at the front.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 17/03/2009 21:11

Wow! That sounds stunning. And, pardon me, but a black velvet corset which gives one an hour glass figure is pretty saucy in my book. But that is because I am an old biddy and regard Alexon as daring cutting-edge fashion.

Wine, anyone?

CMOTdibbler · 17/03/2009 21:19

Yes please !

DH informs me that we are on for taking friends DD away on holiday with us, so I need to book somewhere now. It will be very odd being a two child family for a week

thumbwitch · 17/03/2009 21:50

CMOTD - that outfit sounds amazing and gorgeous and can you post a picture of it, purrllleeeeeaase?

Am seriously .

UniS · 17/03/2009 22:35

CMOT - do you have a fasinator to wear with that frock?? curiously my spell checker thinks I should have written dominator there not fasinator...

DH got home in time, I got to yoga in time, phew. Found the origin of teh CHONNNNK noise- A bottle of toliet cleaner had fallen off the high shelf in bathroom landing in the bath.

Hot choc all round I think, unless you are already on teh hard stuff in which case here's some fine dark choclate to go with it.
