Episode 33 - The Orangery - Tea anyone?

mistlethrush · 08/05/2012 08:58

The tearoom has traveled back to the Orangery for another visit. There are bluebells in the nearby woods, and Mellors has Earl Grey and Lady Grey ready for some excursions. Mellors has, indeed, been overwintering away from Canada for some reason - I think he's been helping Maud out in the garden. There are tulips out in urns outside, and there are a few tables out in the sunny courtyard for use between showers.

Whether you have one child or several, pull up a chair and share a Brew or a Wine. The only rules remains no fisticuffs.

Oh Blush I've just realized who LaBelleDame is - idiot emoticon. Lovely to see you :)

teafortwo · 06/06/2012 06:50

Tired, tired, tired... And sooooo much to do!!!!! Anyway, happy Wednesday to one and all.

Labelle - Milk made a beautiful book called "my school" for the wriggling one... It had pressed flowers and painting in it too... But we have no idea were it is... In the move it got lost. One day we may find it but until then maybe we can think of a new project for the girls?

Maud - you didn't have a street party?????? Is that legal??????

Scout - thanks for Milk's jubilee badge - she loved it so much that she screamed "yoooooooie yoooooooie " and threw it in the air then had to scramble behind the television to retrieve it... I hasten to add until Milk's uniform arrives said guiding badge is being kept safe in a high up place... Grin

JM - here is a comforting herbal tea with a drop of fine Parisian honey in it... Smile - how are you feeling today? Xxxx

All - pain au raisins and freshly squeezed orange juice on the side - help yourselves ....

UniS · 06/06/2012 12:53

ummm, pain au raisins... marvellous.

Showery, boy needs a run around.... today could get difficult as I have only today to get all jobs for the week done.
See you after teh weekend.

Jacksmania · 06/06/2012 20:08

Yum - is there any chance of snagging the recipe for pain au raisins? JB has recently discovered he looooooves raisins. And he loves helping me bake. So that would be fun to make together.

Thank you for asking tea - I'm still very sad. At our yoga studio, the 6pm class yesterday was dedicated to my friend. She was a teacher there from the time they opened until about a year ago when she couldn't teach any longer. We lit candles for her after. It was lovely but so very very sad. I feel exhausted. Weighed down by grief. And that's odd to me because I hadn't known her that long, only about two years, and we didn't see each other often. But oh, she had such a light in her. It seems like everyone loved her. Granted, the cynical part of me says that now she's gone, nobody is going to stand up and say "well I found her annoying" :o - but everyone I've talked to is so sad. I've lost grandparents and pets. Never anyone closer than that and no-one who's my age with little children. It's really hard.

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 06/06/2012 21:36

Tea, I would love us to think of another project. At the moment all I can think of is 'my animals' as we are a bit overexcited about 7 newly-hatched turkeys and a new rabbit called Blossom. But I suspect that Milk doesn't have the space for quite so many animals. Actually, 'my house' would be good, as we could do photos, a plan .... and mention all the animals. It would be interesting to see someone living somewhere completely different. Photos of the 'view out of my window' might be interesting and contrasting. Are you still at the same email? We could start as soon as this bloody endless half term is finally over. Wriggle is just starting to write, so don't expect too much!

teafortwo · 07/06/2012 06:44

Hi Labelle, I don't know... Our place is tiny and we still feel a bit sad about our living arrangements - but following a class trip to the Pompidou Milk is mad about Picasso. Why doesn't Wriggle make a non-fiction book about animals and Milk can make hers about Picasso? Smile

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 07/06/2012 08:52

Ah, hadn't thought about the 'sad about moving' bit. Blush How thoughtless. Yes, let's do nf books (also one of Wriggle's class topics this term). May start today! Pouring with rain again and cold. Are we writing in French or English? As Wriggle has only been writing at all for a few weeks, I think she had better stick to English, or it will be confusing. If Milk would like to write in English too that would be lovely, but we would also be very happy with French. French has declined sharply since school started and I am very conscious that I must do something about it.

teafortwo · 07/06/2012 20:07

We'll do Milk's in English... New Jesus boots broke - took them back to the shop and while we were in the shop Milk bent back the shoes she was wearing... Went to Monop to get some play shoes seeing As she can't look after / I can't afford to buy another pair of French sandals but needs something to wear on her feet - they didn't have any in her size and she hit exhaustion.... Anger....paddy in supermarket Sad tough evening!!!!!!!! I NEED wine, massage.... and anything-else the tearoom feels like offering!!!! Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

CMOTDibbler · 07/06/2012 20:19

What size is she Tea ? Maybe Tiddlers sandals from last year would fit ?

Have a Wine and love/hugs

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 07/06/2012 21:12

Holds out Wine

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 07/06/2012 21:13

Jacksmania · 07/06/2012 21:39

Hi all. Feeling a bit brighter today. Yesterday was a turning point. Still sad but not as shattered with grief. I don't mean that to sound as melodramatic as it does when I see it written down. Blush

Isn't there any champagne? What happened to all our bubbly??

CMOTDibbler · 07/06/2012 21:41

Well, since you ask Grin

And lets have some cheese and twiglets a la mode

oxeye · 07/06/2012 23:47

love the idea of your girl crossing books, Tea and LaBelle - FWIW I don't think different subjects matter at all!

Poor Racing Sad

JM I meant to say a very very very very very dear friend of mine died some time ago when children were very young. I do so know your feelings, it is ok to be pole axed by grief - I felt as if the very axis of my world had slightly shifted so that nothiing looked quite the same and never would return to the old way but it is a truth that time is a healer and the groove of the new world turning while exceedingly painful at first becomes less so as you are more used to it. Never feel bad for grieving. I also think grief is so often a reflection and ponderance of our own anxieties and fears (such as not being around to parent our own children) as much as the loss of the person - all very natural - happy to PM if you want

xx

oxeye · 07/06/2012 23:48

also, our street party ended up on the news!! will try to sort out a photo...

Jacksmania · 08/06/2012 02:53

(((((oxeye))))) How, my dearest, do you always know exactly the right thing to say? Thanks

More Bolly, anyone?

Jacksmania · 08/06/2012 02:54

Tea, I don't know if international shipping would be stupid from here to France, but I do know that you can get girls' shoes very inexpensively at the Outlets in the States. Would you like me to look for her? What would be her US shoe size? And what style does she like?

teafortwo · 08/06/2012 06:15

Thank you for all the shoe lovin' and sympathy both here and in and p.ms too xxxx Freshly baked bread and homemade jam for breakfast .... Grin to celebrate the loveliness of the tearoom xxxxx

T F I Friday - I can't wait for the weekend !!!!!!

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 08/06/2012 16:58

Tea, we have sent a little video for Milk to the email address that we have for you. Don't know if you now have a new one.

What about ebay for shoes? Have got some of Wriggle's on there,.. specially lovely Pomme d'api shoes at a price I can afford.

UniS · 08/06/2012 23:13

oxeye!!! your street party hit teh news!, in London? Is this a good thing or because of VER VER Bad things?

BAck in The tea room briefly. have spent last two days dragging cables round a farm yards, barns and fields in pouring rain. Short respite for weekend ( fete, shopping, boy wrangling) then back for more mud and muck on Monday. The things I do for work. Childminder will have accounted for 27% of my earning over last two days :-( Why'd it have to be school hols when I get offered work.

teafortwo · 09/06/2012 10:44

Y y - need more info on oxeye being on the news - v cool.

Labelle - we have the video but can't get it to play - I will try in a computer when we get a chance : )

teafortwo · 09/06/2012 10:53

In - snort !!! I said in because I was thinking - If The film still doesn't work I will get unis to shrink and send her in the computer to move a few cables - sure to be a drier working environment for her. Grin... This could be a good scène for tearoom The Movie ...
