Tea room 22- A Farmhouse kitchen, anyone for a cuppa?

Welcome to the 22nd incarnation of the tea room. This time we are watching for spring from a cosy farmhouse kitchen. There is an aga for baking virtual cakes and an inglenook with toasty fire and settles to rest weary bones on. The distressed chintz sofa and footstool have arrived safe and sound and the priest hole is around here somewhere. On the Window sill is an aspidistra its pot surrounded by a hand holding circle of nearly naked mohawk babies, they have placards and a brazier.

Outside in the surrounding fields can be found the tea room horses, Earl and Lady Grey, also a herd of bison AND a Ha Ha to keep the bishops from invading.

Usual rules apply, no fisticuffs, if you want an argument go else where. Mellors the butler / game keeper will supply all sorts of things on request. Welcome Mums of one, none or many to the tea room of requirement.

Of course I did! Thank you anyway! Aren't you of a teacherish persuasion? Maybe PKM would be interested. There is a strange synchronicity of names here, with Tea and Tee, UniS and UnSerp, and Mums of all colours. We'll soon need a cast list.

That reminds me, we haven't made much progress with Tea Room: The Movie. Who will play you, Tee, BoffinMum, Scout, PracticallyImperfect and PurpleKnittingMum?

If anyone is interested in knitting commissions, I'd be happy to talk terms too. I fancy some wrist warmers for when it's warm enough for serious gardening. I had a very satisfying time earlier grubbing creeping buttercup out of the lawn and potting up self-sown seedlings.

We should probably pin up a copy of the Cast List Up To Now on the cork board in the corner of the kitchen, next to the shopping list and Mellors' list of jobs.

I can do wrist warmers! I do some for a charity shop using up wool I have in my large stash

Thanks for your advise ladies! I do feel I am a different type of mum to most. My dad was very strict (in the army) and I think I am too. My daughter is not bad at all, we realise she could be so much worse, drinking, smoking etc. I did as my parents told me, didn't argue (much!) with them, I know I wasn't anywhere near as bad as my daughter is. The supplements she is taking help with the PMT! YAY! She was due on yesterday and was a bit stroppy and I said to myself she would come on this morning and she did, but she wasn't as evil and nasty as she was the last 2 months

BabyScout started bedtime at 7 and was out by 7:20/7:30 p.m. I was a mean Mommy and woke him up at 5:30 p.m. I knew otherwise he would be up until silly o'clock and still up at stupid o'clock tomorrow.

I can't knit. Would love to but never managed or crotchet come to that

it's the kind of thing that if was told to a friend I'd up cudgels on their behalf but if told to me i'd feel sneakily worried they were right
that I think is the insidious peril of these parenting worriters they play on the anxiety and lurking guilt most of us feel
I love dear oxblokes robust common sense. He said stop worriting oxeye. Oxboy isn't going to stop loving you. You are not going to lose his love. And I realise my anxieties are all based on that fear of withdrawal of affection by the apple of my eye
so other than how to talk and an old fashioned sensible book the name of which escapes me I won't read such twaddle now

I am a very very very bad mother. I am so tired that it was a a relief to shout at Wriggle when she dropped a tea towel in DH's soup (he doesn't come home until 10pm on Mondays and I had laid out his supper ready for him for later). AP had panic attacks today, I think, very scary and hard work for all concerned, but obviously really only for her. Want someone to look after me. [Selfish emoticon]

BoffinMum, good idea about the WI - I wonder how I could find out if our local branch would offer a similar service. Really decided that I need to cut down on things that lie about the house making me sad.

Last time we tried to decide who'd play us, it was going to be some chick with a French name for me - LaVie suggested her but I can't remember. Picked Uma this g-round because a patient told me last week I was a dead ringer for her. Posted it on FB and people rushed out of the woodwork to say they agreed [boggled].

I did that today Scout when I picked him up from daycare. He was digging through the book box very industrially and looked about 4. sniff
