Here we are, a week after Prince suddenly passed away. This is a thread to grieve, share your memories, thoughts, stories, videos and songs.

Let's keep on supporting each other in the name of The Beautiful One.

The Rolling Stone story had me crying too and I'd been doing so well over the last few days! You're so right Tonight, I'm so pleased that so many people are getting to see how wonderful he was now. When he first died I remember reading or hearing somewhere someone saying Prince didn't do hardly any interviews and just as well cos he wasn't very good at them. What a lie! In all the clips of him I've seen he has been so charming and warm and funny. Wish I could remember who had said that cos I'd love to see if they realise now how wrong they were!

Just read that Rolling Stone link - so sad, but so nice to hear all the good things that were being said. I don't know how they got through it

He was such a talent. What a loss. I have actually got dh listening to Prince Radio when I'm not actually in the house which is amazing! He sends me texts saying - have you heard the lyrics to such & such??! And I reply, 'well hell yeah! Why do you think I love him so much?'

butter I've been listening to Sign O the Times in the car - so incredible. Can't believe it is nearly 30 years old it still sounds so fresh. I haven't listened to it right through for maybe 20 years but it is amazing how well I know all the complex arrangements and vocals, I have been carrying it all around all this time in my head and didn't know it.

tonight yes even when he was clearly unwell he continued to perform. I can't help thinking his recent performances with just the piano must have been tailored to his health. One of the tributes I read thanked him for giving up his anonymity to share his gift with us, and he clearly did that until the end.

He really was one of the most talented people of all time and it is great that he is being recognised as such.

maybe yes he was clearly in a musical flow state just so much of the time.

I was thinking today how many people said seeing Prince was one of the best times of their life, and it sounds silly and obvious but he experienced ALL those incredible times. Thinking about all music he had in his life, all the soundchecks and afterparties and songs etc etc actually makes me feel a bit happier. He obviously just lived for it right up until the end.

Its actually pretty sad looking at that house when you think they split up so soon afterwards and it went on the market with all their personal stuff in it feels a bit voyeuristic

Also I meant to add that I don't blame him for shutting himself off, he was someone with great insight and integrity, and he must have just felt bemused by 'so called' celebrity culture today, and he never wanted to sell out as it would have just been an insult to his talent and the people that inspired him, so it's great that he never did, he stayed true until the end, and yet by being like that he has gained so much respect and his music reached the people he wanted it to, and will do so forever

Nikki I'm the same, I keep listening to albums I didnt know I knew and find that i know all the words and I even know what song is coming next. I have such a bad memory usually so Prince's songs must have made more of an impact on me than I realised at the time.

Each I'm 45 & I've just been to get mine! But little did I know I should have made an appointment! Who knew!? So I have 2 wait 2 weeks!! 2weeks!! I'm now thinking of the symbol with a little tiny dove next to it. Coco inspired? The tattooist was so sweet considering I must have been old enough to be his mother! I almost started blubbing in the reception of the tattoo parlour! He said he would make sure Prince is playing when I go for my tattoo!! Go for it!
