Here we are, a week after Prince suddenly passed away. This is a thread to grieve, share your memories, thoughts, stories, videos and songs.

Yes but what shall i wear for glasto? I deffo need purple for the Friday night party. I was thinking purple wellies. What else? It will be chillie on the night but ill be dancing alot....

Anyone on fb thers a new group started, The Purple Halo. Its all positive stuff and aims keep the music and images alive.

Anybody else waking up with Prince songs in their head? This morning I woke up to the guitar solo from I Could Never Take the Place of your Man. Always loved that one.
Each - there is a ton of paisley on ASOS at the moment, and some of it is even purple :)

I've had a really frustrating day trying to upload Prince CDs to iTunes, which apparently I can only do through DS's computer, and trying to get them onto my phone which had no storage left! Have finally managed to do the Gold Experience and all three Emancipation CDs but it was painfully slow. Need a new phone with more storage to accommodate more Prince

I think my dream fancy dress costume would be Wendy in the purple rain era. Love all that brocade and lace and curly hair all over my face :)

I'm off to a festival in a couple of weeks. No Prince tribute where I'm going, sadly, but I wanted to fly the purple flag, so have been looking on Ebay for ideas. Lots of purple paisley stuff in the women's clothing section and have bought some purple hair chalk for the Sunday.

I ended up buying one of those multi-size, reversible, popper skirts, with attached hip bag. It's purple paisley one side and plain purple on the other with a contrasting waistband. I've also bought purple leggings to wear under it, as there's no way I'll be getting my legs out. Oh - and I have purple and black striped laces for my DMs. Not sure what people wear at Glasto, as the festivals I go to are a bit more basic and alternative.

Ooo, just remembered, I already have purple wellies! I had some fantastic neoprene lined expensive ones for my birthday last year.

Oh God yes, a new purple cover too nikki current one is actually purple but is falling apart.

I've had The Beautiful Ones going round in my head for two days now, forgotten how much I loved that song.

I managed to leave a message & tag myself in the google images link. It makes me cry all over again. I can't believe he is gone.

darlingnikki I get that with different songs in the morning - the phrase I keep getting in my head is from gett off when he says 'let me show you baby I'm a talented boy' - every time I come here & see more pics or clips, that's the phrase that keeps popping into my head. Just the way he says it, the context of the song, & well, it's prince 'nuff said

Butter thank you so much for all those pics, I have just spent ages going thro the sideshow and saving loads of them so I can use them as screensavers. Fully admit I am completely obsessed. Yes I wake up with Prince songs in my head, latest favourite is I Love U in Me, it's so beautiful and wonderfully naughty at the same time.

I was welling up by the end of this article about his memorial service yesterday, particularly the part about his son. Who was called Ahmir, Arabic for Prince. I hope he's with him now.

It's so wrenching isn't. Rediscovering all these wonderful songs and long lost emotions just to be continually brought back to earth by the loss. I just wish I'd done it years ago

The time magazine commemorative edition looks amazing but can't really face it today

I got in the car this morning to go &gets one milk (we'd run out, the mundanity of my life without Prince!) & I Would Die For U came on my CD player in the car & I was off again in floods. It's such a beautiful song. You hear it as a love song but it's a religious song. I'm not religious at all but he so cleverly intertwined his religion with love (one & the same for him I guess) songs that were so accessible & beautiful to those didn't need/want/hear the religious bit. Sob. Wail. I hope he knew he was loved THIS much by everybody.

nikki so I've also been berating the fact I didn't listen to him more in recent years, and had been feeling really guilty about it, but the thing is he shut himself off from the Internet, and big tours and publicity, that it was impossible to keep up, but in the past few weeks so many clips have surfaced or resurfaced and it is just so fascinating, I'm just in awe of everything I see - performances, interviews, even just rehearsals, because he was an absolute genius and I for one am just pleased myself and the world are appreciating it all now, if he could see us all from heaven he would definitely smile because he succeeded in his life's mission to share his God given talent with the world, and touch so many people, and how many of us can say that? Seriously to be that talented it must have felt a burden at times like he couldn't just retire he felt compelled to keep going, and he gave it I his all x

The great thing is about watching all these videos is that I don't think I've seen a single one where he wasn't just really enjoying himself. It must have been wonderful to be such a genius at something you loved doing so much
