Here we are, a week after Prince suddenly passed away. This is a thread to grieve, share your memories, thoughts, stories, videos and songs.

I was wondering if the great purpleness had survived & his people had found him in the lift in time, what then? He had never suffered any sex or drugs scandal, been a 'clean' living JW for years, had been the master of his craft for decades. I wonder how it all would have been handled, how he would have dealt with it all, what he would have said, would he have had therapy? Would he have had hip surgery? Would he become a recluse? Would he have been open about whatever it was he is alleged to have been taking? It troubles me greatly but I think it is almost better he didn't have to suffer going through that as well - being dragged off his pedestal & dragged through the gutter by the world's press. He can remain sort of super human - what do y'all think?. (Apparently he was a big fan of yo mama jokes- makes me love him even more!). I hadn't cried for a couple of days but thinking about what if... Set me off again.

butters [hug] I've been thinking about that too, and I guess the thing is he would have died the week before on the plane, if they hadn't given him the 'save shot' , which was covered up, so I would imagine they would have done the same thing this time, though at least they had planned some treatment for him. I just think it was his time - listening to the lyrics of 'let's go crazy' they are so prophetic - elevators, pills & daffodils ?! it's quite amazing, and does make me think there was something 'other worldly' about him, though I am a fairly religious person so maybe that's more of an obvious conclusion for me, either that or he planned it to look that way, which I find quite hard to believe...I guess all we know is that he was in pain and it was affecting his ability to perform and play music, which must have been devastating for him so in a way it's good that he didn't have to suffer any more...

It's such a shame that he didn't stay in the hospital as he could have been properly treated there. It's sad as it was preventable and unnecessary.

On a different note, I've been reading these stories from fans who met him. Some of the ones from the female fans are a bit sleazy....

I don't know how much of them stories that I actually believe.

I had a friend once who tried to convince me that she was married to/ engaged/gf of Gene Simmons of Kiss.

Same here HRH, I was just thinking the other day that there has never been kiss and tell stories about him. If he was like what those stories make him out to be there would have been loads!

I'm not sure either. Probably a bit of reality drifting into wishful thinking! But how do we know! Maybe we are just a bunch of jealous middle aged pre menopausal women who wish it had been us Prince was lusting over. I did always think, he just hasn't met me yet. Haha!

I don't believe a word of them. Not at all. A young lady at work tried to tell me she'd shsgged Jon Bon Jovi and she never even knew who he was til she saw him in the paper. Yeah, right.

I don't believe a word of it...it reads like (badly-written) porn! That's not to say I think he was a complete innocent - he was so good-looking and talented and famous, he would have had his pick of women; whatever he was like when he was older, I'm sure he didn't spend his youth living like a monk! However there's no way he could have been as indiscreet as some of the posts on that thread without the tabloids having a field day!

Mind you, he was incredibly sexy...

Has anyone seen the photo of the guy who claims he's Prince's son? I can't link as on my phone but if you google, I think it's the mirror that has a pic. He's currently in jail, can't remember what for. I kept looking at the photo, then princes etc. I think the guy looks more like the Dave Chappell version of prince than prince himself

I also found an article (I think it's time magazine - I think it's about the sketch that inspired a song he wrote, possibly breakfast can wait. It's got a spoof cover with Dave Chappell dressed as prince) which has a sound recording link to prince talking about that sketch & confirming it was true. If I can finally suss out the link bit ill see if I can post it later. It's short but quite funny
