How many people do you reckon he slept with? wishes I'd been one of them-. I read somewhere he had 29 affairs.

mummymafia · 08/05/2016 08:02

Casey i was at Hop Farm. It was all that and more. It was, as an article post on here captured it perfectly, totally life affirming. I saw him about 6 times in total & each time was better. After he left the stage at Hop Farm, after about 21/2 hours plus 3 encours, and only because it was the sound curfew, my friend & I just walked around in a kind of Prince induced funk for hours! We could talk! We couldn't believe what we had just seen. He kept saying 'this is real music, this is real music'. I wish I'd seen him at the small venues a couple of years ago with 3rdeyegirl. Hopefully the yoof will now learn how brilliant he was.

EachandEveryone · 08/05/2016 09:03

God knows how many but I have been wondering about how he would chat someone up. He was so anti booze I can't imagining him in a bar offering to buy a drink. I can't imagining approaching anyone at all do you think he did it with Sheens Easton?

Casey24 · 08/05/2016 09:08

Mummymafia how lucky you were, I was messerised for the whole 2 hours, even though it was in you tube I still didn't want to have a loo break! Yes I love how he kept referring to them as musicians, typically humble but lovely, all female band so cool, wish wish wish I had been there, but was in Ibiza at the time...if there is one thing I am definitely going to do more of now it's go to more live music, it's not been easy the past few years with 2 very young children but my soul also needs to be nourished, and as he said the 'old school' need to educate the 'new school' so I also owe it to the dc's

Talking of the X Factor, does anyone remember Ruth Lorenzo singing Purple Rain in 2008?

Morning all, so what you all think of this name then? (ComputerBlue here) it just came to me and I couldn't resist using it!
Dornish I know what you mean, I actually can't stand to watch bgt and X factor type stuff any more it just all seems so rubbish, just give me my Prince albums to listen to and I'm happy!
Now I really must catch up with this thread because I've missed about two days worth of posts I reckon!

EachandEveryone · 08/05/2016 09:51

I will need a party outfit for Glastonbury, Lord knows purples not my colour.

Casey24 · 08/05/2016 10:10

Dh is going to Glastonbury with his mate, I agreed to look after the kids, but now I hear about all the prince tributes I want to go!!! If anyone has any spare tickets I'll pay full price...am also changing my name Wink

darlingnikki · 08/05/2016 10:19

Never got to see him live either, was never remotely near the right place at the right time. Gutted I never will now.
I can't help thinking once would not have been enough either!

Have just read the Matt Thorne biography and he saw him live so many times. It is a good read but heavily focused on the recordings, not much about his personality. Does go right up to 2013 I think so useful.

Prince wrote so many amazing ballads, I'd love to know everyone's favourites.

Destinysdaughter · 08/05/2016 10:57

Yes I'd definitely be up for a meet up, when was that event in Islington?

I remember that destiny - I was going to post a link last night cos I thought that might be the performance referenced on your other thread. She did a decent job I think. But she's no prince Grin

I can't link properly somehow but I came across a jay Leno interview on tube which was really great - it showed the prankster side of prince as he'd pranked Leno before the show & was really amused with himself! It's a nice interview - I think it's listed under late night show or late night chat or something along those lines if any on else can find it.

WreckaStow · 08/05/2016 13:55

This makes me laugh, his expression Grin

mummymafia · 08/05/2016 15:15

Take a look at this.

If he was half as good in bed as he was on stage, he'd have been ok!
