Compiling a list of great covers. Have got quite a few but don't want to miss any out so what are your contributions?

Everlast's version of 'Fulsom Prison Blues'. .

ChateauRouge · 09/05/2011 13:48

Oh - St Etienne's 'He's on the phone' is essentially a cover of an Etienne Daho song too...

Frente!!! Haven't heard their name for years...

KaraStarbuckThrace · 09/05/2011 13:49

Alien Ant farm's cover of Smooth Criminal. Thrash metal version!

Folsom

I can spell, honest.

The link does NOT do it justice. I adore the original but I have danced live to Everlast doing it and it was just brilliant.

titchy · 09/05/2011 13:53

Jeff Buckeley 'Halelujah' - agree far better than AB's.

Who did the absolutely beautiful cover to Tears for Fears 'Mad World' - that was far better than the original IMO.

carminaburana · 09/05/2011 13:55

Alex Parks did a cover of Mad World

LittleMissFlustered · 09/05/2011 14:00

Johnny Cash did a stunning Personal Jesus too.

Eleanor Rigby by Godhead, love the Beatles, but this is better.
Jolene by Queen Adreena.

Gary Jules did a Mad World cover that was superb. There will be more, but I need caffeine :o

Oh now, I think that Kirsty Macoll one would feature right at the top of my worst cover versions ever, I loved the Billy Bragg version and have to turn the radio off if ever the KM version comes on.
