Hmm, interesting and bizarre sounding theory. Satanism in music.

I randomly stumbled across someone discussing this on here so I did alot of research and the findings have actually been quite shocking, it would seem tha a lot of celebs beyonce rhianna and jay z all seem to openly worship, from their hand gestures to what they wear etc.

I am fully aware this sounds totally bizarre and I assure you I am not insane, but have a Google and post your feed back. (can't do links as I'm on mobile) :)

"rappers themselves are speaking out against it now, so there is something going on".

You know that cause and effect doesn't quite work like this, yes?

claig · 19/03/2011 17:27

'All groups worship a fictional deity/deities and believe that their rituals impact on real life. They don't.'

The Mayans believed in deities and unfortunately their rituals did impact on real life, as people were sacrificed and skinned alive. Satanists also have rituals which impact on real life.

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:29

I'm not worried about the devil. Like I said, I'm not hypnotised so whatevs to their theory. But the fact is they have bad intentions, and teens, children listen to them. I'm perfectly normal. That's why I can see what's happening right in front of my face. Why deny it? The images are there, explain why then. Beyonce, if she were a Christian, would never use such imagery.
Just because we are seeing what they are doing does not mean we, or I at least, believe in the Devil

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:30

Right then Colditz, you know more than the people who work with Jay Z et al, so you explain.

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2011 17:30

colditz you put it better than me. After all one of the main arguments was that they showed Michael Jackson's Thriller video...and? Confused

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:32

I personally thought the Thriller thing over egged the pudding. That was a bit yeah, and?
I didn't like what Jack Black did.

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2011 17:33

But that's part of his persona
What was that thing he was in...the pisstake?

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 19/03/2011 17:33

havent read the whole thread, only first page, but sounds similar to all the sex myths in disney films.

claig · 19/03/2011 17:33

Exactly pinkfluffy. I don't believe in the devil either, just as I don't believe in what the Mayans believed in. But I know what the intent of the Mayans was and I understand the intent of these messages. Most of the people who were sacrificed by the Mayans didn't believe in the guff that the Mayans believed in, but it didn't do them much good because the Mayans were in charge. Most of the Russian people didn't believe what the communists and Stalin believed in, but it didn't do any good for those in the gulags, because Stalin was in charge.

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2011 17:33

Tribute :o Where it turns out the granny is the devil in the end

alistron1 · 19/03/2011 17:36

"Satanists also have rituals which impact on real life."

Clumsily phrased by me in my post Claig. Of course the actions of religious groups impact on real life..you only have to look at the aids epidemic in africa, the situation in israel, or the actions of the taliban in afghanistan to see that.

However, the ritual...i.e prayer or thinking that bread and wine turns into flesh and blood etc has no impact whatsoever....so displaying pictures of goats heads or images of pagan gods is not going to send the world to hell in a hand basket.

And TBH, I'm sure most of us would welcome orgies, going sky clad and being generally debauched to going to the church/synagogue/mosque every week and being dictated to about what we can eat and who we can shag.

And in my church of satanic horses we will all be worshiping The Osmonds and only The Osmonds. And we'll all have dental work done in order to be created in their image.

Amen.

WomanOfMassDestruction · 19/03/2011 17:36

claig I can see where you're coming from now.

Fluffy do you feel that the images/symbols/use of them have their own power or are powerful? I am genuinely interested in your perspective and not teasing.

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:38

No I don't. It's their intent of doing evil, and their deception, that bothers me. The images mean something powerful to them, not to me.

colditz · 19/03/2011 17:40

What would you like me to explain, Fluffy? The human propensity to pattern-seeking behavior? The response of the amygdala in loss-of-control situations? The correlation between superstition and the unpredictability of events?

Have a read. Try to read it objectively.

Virgowoo · 19/03/2011 17:41

Not particularly related, but still good.

Anyone know if you can watch that Judas Priest documentary online anywhere? I think it was a BBC2 'Arena'.

Thank you Cleveland, Good night!

nenevomito · 19/03/2011 17:43

I agree, this is very, VERY scary.

Seriously, its scared seven shades of shit out of me that there are people out there who believe in this bollocks.

If I send you my photo will you promise never ever to approach or talk to me should we meet in RL?

Promise?

Virgowoo · 19/03/2011 17:44

Alistron1, I knew you where just lulling us sceptics into a false sense of security with your talk of Zep and rationality when you just want to subliminally convert us to the CHURCH OF OSMOND!

We're onto you.

colditz · 19/03/2011 17:45

Actually the psychology of consiricy is fascinating, particularly as a group of researchers have identified a 'cure' for unrealistic thinking of this level, and that this is to give the person experiencing these thoughts more control over their lives. People who feel out of control of their lives engage in superstition and conspiricy thinking.

alistron1 · 19/03/2011 17:45

Babyheave - do you look like Baphomet, or are you a member of Judas Priest?

My mum got trampled at a Judas Priest concert 'back in the day'...maybe it was the 'divvil' Shock

claig · 19/03/2011 17:45

pinkfluffy and Woman are right.
'The images mean something powerful to them, not to me.'
That is correct. I don't think they believe in Baphomet either, but the significant thing is that they are using the symbolism to achieve their goals. they want to spread their message. What is their message and why are they intent on spreading it to children through music videos?

'However, the ritual...i.e prayer or thinking that bread and wine turns into flesh and blood etc has no impact whatsoever....so displaying pictures of goats heads or images of pagan gods is not going to send the world to hell in a hand basket.

And TBH, I'm sure most of us would welcome orgies, going sky clad and being generally debauched to going to the church/synagogue/mosque every week and being dictated to about what we can eat and who we can shag.'

They don't believe the ritual but the ritual is symbolic of what they do believe, it is symbolic of their intent. You think you would welcome debauched orgies, that is part of the message, but you would soon find out that you wouldn't welcome them. It is not the debauched orgy rituals per se that have meaning, it is the intent.

There are leaders of the message and they have a purpose. The message is only a means to an end. They don't care what you like or don't like. That is not their purpose.

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:46

I've studied Psychology. There isn't just one truth. You can't say just because you don't believe in Satan, nobody else does. Catholics wear the cross as a symbol, why is it so far fetched to think Jay Z may wear satanic symbols to show what he believes? Or that he may have influence over his wife and his protege, Rihanna?
Will read now

Virgowoo · 19/03/2011 17:46

Colditz is a very sensible person, IMO. Smile

alistron1 · 19/03/2011 17:47

Virgowoo

I am flashing my Osmond like dentistry like a siren song...you will all be long haired lovers from liverpool by the time I am done

alistron1 · 19/03/2011 17:49

pinkfluffy Who gives a shit if JayZ believes in satan?! JayZ is a moron for gods sake, my cat has more musical ability and charisma than him. And for that matter than Beyonce and Rhianna.

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:52

Because he has bad intentions. I don't want my children listening to someone with bad intentions towards them. He is decieving his fans, making them do hand signals when they have no idea of the significance. That's very low.
