I randomly stumbled across someone discussing this on here so I did alot of research and the findings have actually been quite shocking, it would seem tha a lot of celebs beyonce rhianna and jay z all seem to openly worship, from their hand gestures to what they wear etc.

I am fully aware this sounds totally bizarre and I assure you I am not insane, but have a Google and post your feed back. (can't do links as I'm on mobile) :)

I don't. I laugh at conspiracy theories. But this is just too many coincidences. If they believe it, and are trying to influence people with it, then that's enough for me to boycott them, even though I used to be a fan. And rappers themselves are speaking out against it now, so there is something going on.

alistron1 · 19/03/2011 17:10

Baphomet is a fictional entity though. It's no more significant than seeing 'snow white*' or summat in a JLS video.

*although Walt Disney was obviously a Lizard.

claig · 19/03/2011 17:10

The message has to reach all parts of the community, Beyonce's audience and Paige's audience. It is sold differently for different audiences, but the underlying message is the same. What is the message? What is it saying? What does it represent? Then, why is that message being disseminated?

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:12

That may be. I don't believe they have sold their souls. How would that work? But they believe in, and are supporting, evil.

'Baphomet is a fictional entity though'
It doesn't matter if it is fictional. What matters is what it represents? What is the intent? The ideals of communism are fictional, but when put in practice, they are not a fairy story.

alistron1 · 19/03/2011 17:13

What is the message then??!! Someone tell me!!

I'm a massive Zep/Paige fan and have never felt the need to slaughter a goat or cavort nekkid bathing in pigs blood etc....

Virgowoo · 19/03/2011 17:13

Waaaah! Grin 'it takes some looking at'

....and then many hours later, when you have convinced yourself that you can see the face of satan in the lid off your muller yoghurt, you take to your keyboard to announce to the interweb that muller produce evil yoghurts that contain satanic imagery to corrupt and control your children.

Sometimes things just look a bit like....cats, shoes, lorries, willies etc.

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:14

Agree with Claig. Intent is everything here

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:15

Virgo we are not "Jesus face on a piece of toast" types! We are seeing what is there.

alistron1 · 19/03/2011 17:16

"I don't believe they have sold their souls"

Robert Johnson was alleged to have sold his soul to the 'divvil' and wrote this song which has been widely covered (all about selling yer soul at the crossroads etc..)

Satanism was so much groovier in the 60's.

OmarDaze · 19/03/2011 17:16

Virgo, are you saying you can't see it? Grin

Virgowoo · 19/03/2011 17:17

alistron1, me too. Clearly my mind has been corrupted, however I have never felt the need to display any kind of allegiance to the Dark Lord (said in deep voice with torch held under chin.)

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 19/03/2011 17:18

But if you wanted to put a goat's head/pentagram on it, why not just go ahead and do it?

As a veteran of 80's metal, I have huge numbers of CDs with Satanic imagery and/or lyrics. I'm used to Christians getting their knickers in a twist about it, but conspiracy theorists is a new one on me.
Oh, wait - who's a Christian on here, and who is worried about the Illuminati or something?

Virgowoo, there's no point trying to press claig on her conspiracy theory, it is very bizarre, multi-stranded and convoluted and she never actually reveals anything about it, preferring instead to hint darkly, and occasionally link to the outer reaches of internet CAPS LOCK ramblings...

CalamityKate · 19/03/2011 17:18

Oh get a grip.

Satanism shmatanism.

WomanOfMassDestruction · 19/03/2011 17:19

OK... I am unclear of the intent given that unless the audience understands the imagery surely it is irrelevant?

FWIW I do understand what the images represent. I am also very clear on where images have been taken from earlier/other beliefs and are now seen as "evil".

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:19

So there are no Satanists in the world then?

pinkfluffyprincess · 19/03/2011 17:21

WOMD I think they think they are hypotising people by making audiences do hand signs, flashing Satanic symbols etc. Then whether people understood or not would be irrelevant.

gothicmama · 19/03/2011 17:23

Hmm not really differnet target audience just different times

Virgowoo · 19/03/2011 17:23

Let me say, I have no intention of upsetting anyone, I'm just poking fun.

However, I have studied psychology of design, as used in marketing, as will be employed in music videos to promote and sell a product.

All I see in that picture of Rihanna is a strong visual image which fits with her PR image of an edgy, sexy young woman who produces modern, edgy music. I'm not a fan, but I can see that her promotion is themed to be sexy and body-centric.

UnquietDad · 19/03/2011 17:23

Yes, um, you know the Devil doesn't really exist, right?

I thought all American popsters all worshipped Gaaaaahd anyway.

colditz · 19/03/2011 17:23

Is this some sort of long running joke that I haven't been party to?

That youtube video is laughable. Words such as "Oddly" and "Rumoured" have been used to apply implausable meanings to people showing off. That's all performance artists do, in varying degrees of skill - they show off.

If you are seriously considering boycotting ANYTHING as a result of any of the links on this thread, it should be the computer. Get off the computer, and go and enjoy the rest of your life. It is not NORMAL to worry about 'the devil' to this extent, not even for those who are very religious.

alistron1 · 19/03/2011 17:24

There are satanists, as there are christians, muslims, jews, hindus etc. All groups worship a fictional deity/deities and believe that their rituals impact on real life. They don't.

The only god is the god of rock, and the lizards of course.

claig · 19/03/2011 17:24

WomanofMassDestruction has understood the message. But the point of disseminating the message is not to convert everyone who sees it. That is not the intent. It doesn't matter if most people don't understand it. In fact the message is esoteric, it is not meant to be understood by everyone, that is why it is done subtly and subliminally. The message is an announcement by those who do understand it. Just like church bells are an announcement. The intenet is understood by the those who disseminate the message.
