Ok, I have searched other threads but have not found exactly what I am after. I like stuff that matches the description above. Nothing too "stripped bare", one man and a guitar would not do! Has to make your spine tingle and make you cry, but be loud enough too. Any ideas as I want to expand my ipod selection?

I'm more of a rock girl myself too. Have only had a quick listen, but am going to spend a bit if quality youtube time tonight. Liked the sound of it. I can't bear music with a weak vocal and they sound good!

lovelyopaque now that I see you like rock music, I can heartily recommend Chuter. Not sure how you feel about postrock/drone rock/whatever, but his mini album 'Leaving Here' is one of my favourite albums ever ever ever. And you can download it for free.

I have linked Trent Reznor's latest project how to destroy angels It is a free download EP and the last track 'A drowning' is, in my opinion beautiful. It is sung by his wife Mariqueen Maandig.
