Created for Uniqlo

We’re recruiting 150 UK-based Mumsnet users to test Uniqlo’s AIRism Sanitary Shorts.

  • Selected testers will receive two pairs of Uniqlo Sanitary Shorts
  • Testers will be asked to feed back via a thread and survey after about four weeks
  • All testers who leave their feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £100 voucher from a store of your choice.

Here’s what Uniqlo has to say:
“UNIQLO is a clothing retailer from Japan with a philosophy of Lifewear. LifeWear is clothing designed to make everyone’s life better. It’s simple, high-quality, everyday clothing with a practical sense of beauty. It’s ingenious in detail, designed with life’s needs in mind and is always evolving.

Oh my, they just arrived and are horrendous. Absolutely massive, god knows what they'll be practical to wear with?!

Mine are ok! But I'm tall and usually wear high waisted pants anyway Grin The fit seems a bit off leg wise - they're tight at the front of the leg on me and a bit looser on the bum
Justmuddlingalong · 05/03/2022 13:05

Being under no illusions as to the size of my toosh, I put a size medium as my preference. I've received a small, so unless I can loose about 2 stone before my next period, I'm going to give them to a friend to review.

Skinterior · 05/03/2022 15:05

Just put mine on. Arrived just in time for this month.

Very comfy but it's a heavy day so I'm a little bit nervous about where I sit.

DurhamDurham · 05/03/2022 16:26

Mine arrived today, first impressions aren't great but prepared to give them a good go and if they do what they're supposed to I'll be able to overlook the fact that they arrived v creased, look huge and look like they already have water stains on them. I know they're brand new as they came in a sealed bag but they have weird type stains which might be due to the production process.

WhatsitWiggle · 05/03/2022 18:47

Mine arrived today too - not keen on the fabric and despite choosing a medium, they're smaller than expected, and the padding feels very thin.

Ilikesweetpeas · 05/03/2022 19:11

I was hoping to be chosen but if some of you have got them I guess I wasn’t picked ! I’ll be interested to read the feedback

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 05/03/2022 20:07

Mine also arrived today. Ordered a medium, am usually a small size 12 on the bottom and crikey they cut me in two!

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 05/03/2022 21:01

I was chosen but had an email saying the delivery is delayed. Feedback not looking too great so far but I'll give em a go, whenever they get here!

BoobsOnTheMoon · 05/03/2022 21:04

I didn't know I'd been chosen until I got the email saying they were delayed! Not here yet but fingers crossed for Monday. I have past experience of Uniqlo and their tiny sizes so I asked for XXL despite being a UK 12-14 Grin

They might be a bit big.. I'm a 16/18 and got the XXL
TheCanyon · 05/03/2022 21:58

You get two btw, so I doled out one to dd13. She's just had a shower and got changed into them declaring them the most comfy pants EVER 🤣 I tried them on over my pj's, up to my belly button and the crotch is super wide so pad really bunches? I don't ever use pads so feels weird. And like @WhatsitWiggle says, weird material, like hold in pants. Are all the 'sanitary' pants like that?

CeeCeeDeeBee · 05/03/2022 22:16

Received mine today, excited to try them!

WhatsitWiggle · 05/03/2022 22:20

I doled one pair out to DD too! She's on at the moment so perfect timing. She's a size 6 so the M is a bit big. I'm a 10, managed to get them on - the material is stretchier than I thought - but the bit at the front of the leg is tight.

@TheCanyon DD has period pants from Modibodi and they are cotton lycra mix, so no, no all sanitary pants are the same.

YforWanky · 06/03/2022 07:47

@pawpaws2022

Who knows in that case! All I was going on was the thermal leggings I bought in M and L, assuming one size would fit, and ended up having to swap for XL which were also minuscule and then get a refund as they didn't have any bigger than XL! But I'm always pretty bloated during my period and anything tight round my waist or groin hurts, so a bit big is better than too small

MuthaHubbard · 06/03/2022 13:52

Got mine yesterday - I'm a size 10ish/12 and they me well. I prefer a high waist and fabric felt ok. I have one pair from another brand and the material is quite thick - these are more like like the no vpl type material.
Not needed yet so will report back when used

MuthaHubbard · 06/03/2022 13:52

*fit me quite well

CatkinToadflax · 06/03/2022 19:47

Mind arrived yesterday. They are a rather terrifying shade of pink. They looked absolutely tiny (albeit voluminous) and I thought I’d ordered completely the wrong size (I’m a 12-14 and I ordered size M) but in fact they’re very stretchy and the fit is surprisingly good. Will be an interesting product test!

Bangkokbaby · 06/03/2022 19:52

Mine arrived yesterday. I thought they looked big, but they fit well. I tried them on just to get an idea of size. I like the fabric, they feel much thinner than the usual cloth pads that I have, so I'm a bit worried how they will manage absorbancy wise!
They wrinkle a bit at my bum, but otherwise seem quite discreet under clothes.
I'll feedback more once I actually use them.

time4anothername · 07/03/2022 12:23

They'd certainly be useful for the entrapped Ukrainian women without access to toilets and running water, let alone sanitary products.
