Does parking on a closed road count as a live parking thread? 😁

So they have closed the road I live on to resurface it. It will be closed for the next two nights. We’ve had multiple letters from the council, there have been signs up for at least a month and yesterday they painted NO PARKING THURSDAY AND FRIDAY all over the road.

8 cars are still parked there with 15 minutes to go until resurfacing begins. One of the cars is right outside my house and when I saw them out the window, I tried to explain to the two women (looking like they were off for an evening in town) that they were probably not going to be able to get their car until morning but they told me to fuck off!

The road is lorry central, a guy is taking pictures of the remaining cars… it’s all go here.

Anyone know what they do? Do they just resurface round the cars? Tow them away? Do they get brutal? There’s a fair few annoyed looking men in hi-vis walking up and down! Should I get wine and a comfy viewing position?

I stayed awake for as long as I could but didn’t hear or see any other cars being towed or women coming back. Tbh if I’d had my car towed on a road marked with DO NOT PARK THURS AND FRI NIGHT right next to where I’d left it, I’d have slinked off onto the night too.

Excellent thread but you lose points for not setting up a folding chair on the pavement all night, with a flask and sandwiches, so you could document fuck off lady's return.

And someone has just posted a video of a car being towed in the local Facebook group 😅🚗

No road surfacing done now until later this evening. They’ve done half the road - the other side is where the majority of cars are and I guess will be done tonight… I wonder if they got a heads up?

I’ll make sure the wine is cold for this evening. 😁

Me too (if I've worked out the town) and went to the school on the top of the hill ! Also live a way away now, but revisit sometimes to see friends :)

Just seen that! I suspected there would be cars still parked down at that end…

In the meantime, @DailyMaui I'd imagine that if the Fuck Off Woman was only intending to return to her car this morning having been on a night out, the fun and excitement is only going to get started this morning.

I do wonder that if your car gets towed away for works like this, whether the council contact the DVLA to find out who the registered owner is and contact them to let them know that the car has been towed or whether they leave it up to the owner to contact the police reporting their car is missing/stolen?
Does anyone know the intricacies of this??

I found the bone the other day. It’s in the garden still. It is very probably not a child’s femur as said doctor friend was drunk and I’m not sure an expert on aged bone identification. I’ll see if I can find where I threw it and take a picture.

I have no idea where the lung tonic bottle and China doll’s leg are now - it’s been 15 years. I think I put them in the shed which was dismantled and it and contents went in a skip. Really annoying as I was very excited to find them.

Christ!! Were they in the same place? Sounds like someone buried their kid who died of TB in your garden.

Ooh I know where you are. My brother used to live at the top of that fecking hill and insist on walking into town which was fine on the way in but not so much on the way home.
