Is this positive?!

I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

Ooh I'm into milkshakes right now @northernsquirrel !
I bought some Nesquik after a poster mentioned it on this thread.
I had a peanut butter and banana one at Five Guys just before Christmas and it really hit the spot.
I might try a McDonalds one at the weekend. The thought of a thick vanilla one is very appealing!

What a gorgeous thread. I wish you all the luck for a healthy happy pregnancy 💗

ladycarlotta · 14/01/2022 13:05

oooh OP I love this thread! So many congratulations. I'm so glad it's all going well, but I don't think you should bank on morning sickness vanishing with the first trimester, it might or it might not.

I think mine went on for about 16 weeks, but I know some people who didn't have HG or anything but did have sporadic pukes into their third trimester. I definitely had food aversions for far longer than the sickness itself lasted. But it's so different from person to person. I don't mean to be discouraging!

Omgwhatthehell · 14/01/2022 13:47

Thanks @ladycarlotta it just took me by surprise this morning!
I hope it goes away but we’ll see. My immediate worry was “is this normal?!” But it seems it very much is.

@Omgwhatthehell I threw up lots when I was pregnant with dd. I didn’t have HG or anything, just threw up most mornings but kept food down fine the rest of the day (didn’t really have nausea, just had to throw up and then felt better). I actually preferred the vomiting over that sick/nausea feeling.. It went away for a bit during the second trimester and came back again towards the end. As PP have said, it’s normal and all is fine with dd. Sending you positive vibes and hope the scan goes well 🤞🏻💐

I am loving milkshakes right now!! We don't live anywhere near a mc donalds/ similar thankfully so I'd be getting a few daily. I bought strawberry nesquik milkshake powder though and it is hitting the spot but also probably fairly healthy

Wow just found this thread congratulations op I was sick up until I gave birth I remember laying on the table about to have my csection and vomiting. I always was lead to believe the continuation of symptoms was a good sign the pregnancy hormone levels are still high so a good sign.

Amymamabear89 · 14/01/2022 18:25

I hate to say it but I was sick alt he way through often randomly, but I just couldn’t go my teeth properly lol! Been keeping this thread open on a separate tab! So super happy for you! Definitely following along xx congratulations xx

@Omgwhatthehell

Thanks *@northernsquirrel and @SaintVal*

All the advice suggests that 'morning' sickness should ease off around the 11 week point so I was a bit surprised to feel my tummy turning over as I ate my morning All Bran! (constipation has been another lovely side effect).

Hopefully this was a one off.
Our scan is in a week now, so I'll let you all know how it goes.

Look forward to it!!
JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 16/01/2022 11:25

I was a milkshake monster throughout my pregnancy! Couldn't get enough of chocolate milkshake. The colder the better. In an attempt to keep the calories down I drank skimmed milk too. I peaked at 42 pints in a week Blush

minmooch · 21/01/2022 12:23

Hope the scan goes well today op

Onelastsong · 21/01/2022 12:49

We’ve had our scan and all is looking good.
Thought I’d share it with you all. Due date is 31st July.

We were both quite nervous but the sonograper was lovely.
She said all is looking well. And that the baby has a cute face. I imagine she says that to everyone, but it was still nice!

It was incredible to see the little one moving around in there. And see all of it’s fibgers and toes. We feel excited but are very much taking this stage by stage.

We chose to have the tests available. There’s no sign of Down’s syndrome from the scan, but we should know within 4 days if the bloods indicate a high chance of this, Edwards or Patau.

Is this positive?!
