Is this positive?!

I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

How lovely to come across this thread. Such wonderful news for you. Congratulations Flowers

Just thought I'd post a little update.

I am booked in for the NHS dating scan towards the end of January when I should be around 13 weeks.
We have our early scan in about a week. If all is well then I think this will feel a bit more real and we'll be ready to feel a bit more excited!

As it is I have very little appetite and am feeling quite sick during the day. I can't quite work out if it's nerves or early pregnancy sickness!

I had noticed I was tired and wasn't very hungry throughout November but I put it down to being so busy at work and end of year fatigue. I really don't fancy eating much at all apart from 'children's' sort of food like beans, pasta bake, mashed potato, fish fingers and milkshake.

Oh, OP. I am so absolutely delighted for you. Smile

Merry Christmas!

  • re morning sickness - little and often. Eating a little tiny bit actually helps to ease nausea quite often.
Benjispruce5 · 10/12/2021 17:09

Don’t worry if you don’t have full on sickness. I had not one moment of nausea with either of my pregnancies and they’re now 17 & 21.Everyone is different.

I remember when I was at the stage you were at telling my fertility nurse that I felt quite sick & she said "That's fantastic" which I've never forgotten Grin

Lovely to have an update OP. Keep taking care of yourself & enjoying this special time Smile

I love a thread like this. I believe this is what they call a "last hurrah" op.... your body goes a bit loopy on the downhill slope and sometimes throws everything at a couple of last swings for the win. I believe it used to be relatively common in the days before reliable contraception.... both my grandmothers produced surprise last babies 8 years after their older children, when they thought they were a bit "past it".

Good luck with your pregnancy.

wotsittoes · 10/12/2021 23:14

Wonderful news 🥰

@Omgwhatthehell

Pregnancy vitamins have been ordered and I've just bought a digital test from Amazon which will be delivered tomorrow. It should tell me roughly how many weeks along I am.

Just as a popped to the loo to do the first test at lunch time I was adding to the trolley for our online Christmas grocery shop. So I've taken the camembert and pate out of the trolley as well as my favourite wine!

I've got my work's Christmas party and catch up's with friends over the next few weeks so am thinking of ways I can hide that I'm not drinking.

When DH comes home tonight I'm going to tell him he is now in charge of doing the cat's litter tray Grin.

This is crazy.

Congratulations!!!!! Defo put the pate back but you can eat Camembert if you bake it! Winner winner!! 😉

JabNotInArm · 11/12/2021 08:07

Congratulations OP! Wishing you all the very best!

Newmum110 · 11/12/2021 09:41

Enjoy mashed potato while you can. For my pregnancy there were a lot of textures I couldn't handle which meant giving up my beloved mash!!!!

Arewebacktonormalyet · 11/12/2021 21:27

Awww, congrats OP! I had exactly the same dietary preferences as you with my first pregnancy with my daughter in 2015. Please pop back and let us know how you're getting on. What a lovely happy post Smile
