Is this positive?!

I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

Many congratulations to you and hubby! I can hear your shocked excitement through your typing, so lovely to have a happy thread to read 🥰

Honeypickle · 01/12/2021 20:02

Huge congratulations to you both! X

impossible · 01/12/2021 20:03

Congratulations! Not too old - how exciting. I had both my dcs in my early 40s - surprising natural pregnancies.

oldandscunnered · 01/12/2021 20:06

That is absolutely fantastic news OP - miracles can happen, it was completely meant to be. So happy for you. Good news in a world full of madness. Keep us updated with everything.

Merryoldgoat · 01/12/2021 20:06

I normally detest the ‘is this positive posts’ but this is fucking brilliant.

Congratulations OP - absolutely fantastic ❤️

Maddy456 · 01/12/2021 20:09

Congratulations! Low AMH doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t conceive, it’s the egg quality that’s very important. I also have very low AMH and I conceived the first month of trying!

I am loving this thread! Congratulations what a warming story 🥰Shame about the christmas booze 😂 but at least you got one last glass of wine in while you were unaware 😋😋

Thatsplentyjack · 01/12/2021 20:13

🤣 I think this is the first pregnancy test thread that I haven't had to zoom in and really study to see the line! Congratulations OP.

dumdedumpop · 01/12/2021 20:14

Saoirse82 · 01/12/2021 20:14

Congratulations OP, I was in a similar situation in March, my surprise bfp didn't sink in for a long time. We'd been married 8 years and had resigned ourselves to a life without kids after it just not happening for us. Im currently nursing my perfect 2 week old miracle.
Lovely news, I love to hear stories like this. Happy and healthy 9 months to you!

Wanderingone85 · 01/12/2021 20:15

@Omgwhatthehell

Pregnancy vitamins have been ordered and I've just bought a digital test from Amazon which will be delivered tomorrow. It should tell me roughly how many weeks along I am.

Just as a popped to the loo to do the first test at lunch time I was adding to the trolley for our online Christmas grocery shop. So I've taken the camembert and pate out of the trolley as well as my favourite wine!

I've got my work's Christmas party and catch up's with friends over the next few weeks so am thinking of ways I can hide that I'm not drinking.

When DH comes home tonight I'm going to tell him he is now in charge of doing the cat's litter tray Grin.

This is crazy.

I was also in the early stages of pregnancy over Christmas OP I was 'on antibiotics' 😉 I love a drink at Christmas so I was sure I'd get caught out but I didn't 🙌

Honestly though, I am grinning ear to ear reading your posts. I'm so pleased for you

jelly79 · 01/12/2021 20:22

Gorgeous congratulations OP x

Hodl · 01/12/2021 20:23

Huge congrats op 😊
What a lovely thread, wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!

squee123 · 01/12/2021 20:25

Just don't be worried if the weeks indicator seems weird. They're really inaccurate, lots of people never get the 3+ weeks despite having healthy pregnancies. Also you have to add two weeks on to work out how far along you are as they date from conception not the first day of your period.

Best excuse for not drinking is a terrible hangover from an imaginary night before. Don't use the antibiotics excuse.

Congratulations again!

ErinAoife · 01/12/2021 20:26

Congratulations. Delighted for you and your husband.

RatsolutelyFabulous · 01/12/2021 20:26

Massive congratulations to you and your DH, so happy for you both!!!

Stickystickystick · 01/12/2021 20:28

What a lovely thread. Don't forget to add on 2 weeks to the number of Weeks the test says. The test will give you weeks from conception but when midwives work it out the number of weeks it is calculated from first day of last period. So so happy for you

Emmelina · 01/12/2021 20:29

This is so so wonderful! The best early Christmas present! Congratulations ☺️
