… and so over the next few days I'll be bringing you some scenes of a Playmobil Pandemic.

People are allowed out for exercise, but must practise social distancing. Janice and Preston are both out for a run but are making sure they don't get too close.

Is there a police station, btw? I can guarantee that those Bad Boys will end up in the cells before they're much older!

SoMuchToBits · 18/04/2020 16:05

They were originally from this set playmodb.orgbacks/3/3161_back_box.jpg
and this set playmodb.orgbacks/3/3162_back.jpg

At the time (when ds was about 7 or 8) there was a game on the Playmobil website called Bicycle Cops. In the game the bicycle cop (we have him and we call him Raymond) is chasing Jack Jellyhead (that's what he was called in the game). After that ds and I decided all the robbers should have names with desserts in them!

I think we have about 3 police stations! Ds went through a massive police obsession when he was younger (not to mention a fire engine obsession, a construction obsession, a lifeboat obsession etc).

DS did too! but we weren't living in the UK when he was growing up, so no Playmo. Can't remember who made his stuff - Matell, something like that? - but the storage boxes etc are still going strong!
Back to your theme, tho. Great to see Norm on the scene again.

Gherkinbee · 18/04/2020 16:30

@Ninkanink That sounds like the Playmobil ‘lockdown nostalgia’ package. 😆

Yup!!
I'm looking forward to one of the female playmo people attempting their own bikini wax for the first time, or having a home box dye disaster

Ninkanink · 18/04/2020 16:40

😁 maybe the Playmo Woman will be lucky and have just recently purchased a Lumea!

Bloodybridget · 18/04/2020 16:47

Might someone attempt a home haircut? I suppose that would be tricky (as their hair can't get shorter). But the victim could wear a hat for a few weeks?

SoMuchToBits · 18/04/2020 17:01

You can change the Playmo people's hair, so a haircut is entirely feasible...

Here's what Norman would look like with red hair.

Love the press conference

Are any Playmo people working from home, using Zoom for meetings? Or perhaps doing PE with Joe Wicks in the mornings?

SoMuchToBits · 18/04/2020 17:05

Matthias is working from home. Not quite sure how I'd do Zoom though.

Elton John with a 'tache..Grin

Bloodybridget · 18/04/2020 17:21

Playmo clippers needed then!

OneHippoOnThePhone · 18/04/2020 17:39

Norman looks fantastic with red hair. I’m concerned about his mug being empty. Is there a shortage of tea?

SoMuchToBits · 18/04/2020 17:59

No, this photo was taken about 9 years ago, and he had just finished his cuppa and was going for a top-up! Grin

Surely some of the playmo kids are taking advantage of the lockdown to dye their hair, if RL is anything to go by.

OneHippoOnThePhone · 18/04/2020 19:18

Phew!

SoMuchToBits · 18/04/2020 21:49

Hair dyeing sounds like another interesting option!

SunshineCake · 18/04/2020 22:13

My dd and I have dyed our hair. Hers is red and mine is purple Grin.

SoMuch, today's Sunday Times mentions this thread in some brief detail, Smile in an article about how mothers are dealing with the pandemic, clearly based on a journalist briefly trawling mumsnet's active threads! Sorry there's a pay wall so I can't link, but I thought you'd be amused.

sanealaddin · 19/04/2020 07:45

I've just woken up and it's sunny outside. I want to go to the beach with Jack Jellyhead and the boys!

Bumpsadaisie · 19/04/2020 08:23

Op my kids are waiting for photos and you've inspired them to do this kind of thing with their own play Mobil do you can imagine how much I love you xxx

SoMuchToBits · 19/04/2020 08:24

FlosCampi fame at last! Maybe I should buy a copy...

sanealaddin you might get arrested by Michael the beach policeman! Wink
