I slept with my best friend last night

and now I have no idea what to do Blush

We haven't spoke to each other since last night as we've both been working today but I'm not sure if I should contact him first or should I wait for him to contact me?

I don't know what he thinks about it and whether he thinks it meant something or it was just a casual one night stand. I'm not even sure I know tbh Blush

Should I mention this to him or just forget it ever happened and continue on as normal?

I would never joke about marriage with someone I'd just slept with for the first time - it's way too cringey and open to misinterpretation.

Anyway, no harm done in this case Smile

StillaChocoholic · 26/10/2016 08:58

Best thread I've read in a while! Hope you had a good night (again) Grin

ShowMeTheElf · 26/10/2016 09:11

Ah, lovely. Just read the whole thread on the train to work.
Well done for getting out of the Friend Zone 😊

ohfourfoxache · 26/10/2016 09:40

Oh how absolutely wonderful!

I'm so pleased for you op Thanks

Somerville · 26/10/2016 09:45

Quit being so sensible, AnotherEmma Grin

He'd already told her he's been waiting for this for a long time (awww!) - it was probably the best text he's ever received. Bet he's saved it!

Warning, though, OP. In my experience, 'jokes' about marriage are generally testing the ground with each other and are shortly followed by anwhirlwind engagement and wedding. Just sayin' Grin

BadToTheBone · 26/10/2016 09:47

That's fabulous, so pleased to you.

That's very close to what happened to me 18 years ago, still together.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 26/10/2016 09:58

This is so lovely.

I hope Imperial sees. She should definitely be guest of honour at the wedding!

GlitteryFluff · 26/10/2016 10:00

Yay for a happy ending!

Liiinoo · 26/10/2016 14:57

Be honest with him. If it was more than a quick shag to you, let him know that. Otherwise you could end up with a ridiculous situation where both of you are so concerned about appearing cool and detached that you both conceal your true feelings and miss out on developing a relationship.

As Del Boy Trotter would say 'he who dares, wins!'

Liiinoo · 26/10/2016 14:59

Just caught up. Somehow I missed the third page. YAY!!

cjt110 · 26/10/2016 15:08

Just went through the whole drama with you in minutes flat! Yay!

Another one here. Although not my best friend - a work colleague who I was chatting with outside of work because I fancied his friend. Together 14 years in Feb :)

allthingsred · 26/10/2016 15:08

I've done this in the past. & it proved we should just be friends. He is a good looking guy, funny a gentleman but no chemistry there since that one night & a shed load of alcohol!!
Both woke the next day laughed about it, & said the same thing. He is still one of my best friends now, it doesn't necessarily have to have a negative affect on your relationship. But you do have to talk about it with each other
