I used to think that I was a good writer. But, since joining MN, I have to face the sad realisation that this is untrue. If I comment on a thread, it dies, and if I start a thread, no one answers! I give up. I know I am a good reader, I will stick to that from now on....

Hi blue thanks.

Pretty darn hot here too!

Dp birthday on Sunday. Getting away from the pub on a Sunday is very unusual! But they will cope.

How about you?

DuchessOfAvon · 06/06/2013 22:03

Sorry for extended absence. Real life got in the way in a "no time even for MN" kind of way.

Condolences TT

Loving the artwork but NOT the threadworms - I see too many of those in real life to appreciate them on here.

Grin great one duchess

hi blue
no plans, just the usual trying to get things done on Saturday.
Sunday is church as usual and as DS1 is singing in the choir (at a Chapel Royal - brag brag) the whole day is busy going back and forth.

I just want to sleep all weekend! Smile

Morning campers! Grin Beautiful day here again. Sill in a mood, either AF appears or I start an IV of vino, meh! I thought the whole packet of chocolate digestives would have helped for breakfast but sadly not Wink

amazingmumof6 · 07/06/2013 10:15

oh roomie, start the vino IV drip, you are beyond help! Grin

Roomfor1more · 07/06/2013 10:36

I'm ignoring dd and her all out wobblers because a fucking fly goes into the livingroom. Its a sodding fly, they come out when its warm and I have windows open!! I've had to escape to the garden to stop myself from parcelling her up and sending her far far away. I am beyond pissed off at this stage.......... And I'm shutting up now Grin

amazingmumof6 · 07/06/2013 13:27

once we had a bird fell through the chimney and into the fake fireplace. it got slightly trapped in the fire guard and noise of the panicked flapping wings were horrifying (think Hitchcock).

luckily the window was open and it found its way out pretty quickly without my help, which was a good thing, coz we just sat there gobsmacked, trying to figure out what was going on.

just surreal!Shock

tell her that, see if she'll calm done! or make her drink some wine, see if she gets all mellow?Grin

DS1 (undiagnosed Aspergers) has a new obsession-to find a job. All well and good I hear you cry, yes-but after eight hours last night of it I am exhausted.
No darling, I don't think they'll let you into Australia without a confirmed job, no sweetie, you can't just get a job at a high level when you don't have a single qualification to your name even though your iq is off the scale. Yes, I think getting a job on a farm 600 miles away with live in accommodation is a good idea, and so on.

Nine years I have waited for this time, fingers crossed it does lead to something.

changeforthebetter · 07/06/2013 18:37

Meh! I started one on food processors and no fucker repliedGrin Yes, it was ditchwater dull but that doesn't stop other tedious threads getting replies Grin

Life is too short to worry about MN threads. There are quiches, regulars, long- term low- profile posters (like me), irregulars and lurkers. Mostly it. Seems to be proportionate to the amount of time and energy you invest in the (cyber)space. I love a good bit of MNing but can't be arsed/dont have the headspace to remember most people's names Blush A few (Hollyberrybush, LaQueen and scottishmummy) can be relied upon to irritate me regularly - and then irritate me further by posting something I profoundly agree with Grin)

Random rabid threads about goats ridden by trolls are overtaking us! Get back, you goats (someone illustrate a goat, please)! Back!

once a squirrel ran down our chimney into the fireplace, then into the living room (American childhood). My mother leapt onto the couch, shrieking. Hilarious! It ran round the room sprinkling coal everywhere, then out the door, which my dad had just opened

Once my labrador ate insulation, once earmuffs, once my (not so) lucky rock, once my favourite bra (from the clothesline), twice a tape measure, several times the cat's poo

Crow flew down my sister's chimney too. BIL grabbed at it and was left standing with all its tail feathers in his hand Grin Eventually got it out and the git of a crow became like a pet at her house, George, his feathers never grew back either.

Got burnt to a crisp today. I'm now glowing. Sat out UNDER a parasol reading that Miranda Hart book. That's an hour of my life I'll never get back Sad She's very Marmite isn't she. Love her in Call The Midwife but as herself................ mmmm Hmm

ZenOfPetals · 07/06/2013 21:52

Once my (then) kitten got out in the middle of the night, and I woke with a fright, and looked out the (dormer) window to see the big fat mean local tomcat bully howling at my poor virginal kitten, so I shouted at him, but both cats ran on to the neighbor's roof, so I ran out the front door (in a nightie), and shrieked at the tom, who ran off, but my poor little kitten scrambled on to the stupid looking fake metal turret thing my neighbors have on the porch roof, so I had to coax her down with a cat treat from Lidl

Once I went to a really boring conference and came home, sad to have missed all the sun, and drank too much wine (Oh, that was tonight)
