I used to think that I was a good writer. But, since joining MN, I have to face the sad realisation that this is untrue. If I comment on a thread, it dies, and if I start a thread, no one answers! I give up. I know I am a good reader, I will stick to that from now on....

Giggle. The Indelible Inthreadibles :)

I don't think MN is very well known here - I started while we were sti in the UK and kept posting once we'd moved. There are a few expats around but none in my part of NZ, they're mostly on North Island.

Roomfor1more · 27/05/2013 11:50

Vix Have a BIL on the south island and he loves it there. Hoping to go sometime to visit but will wait till all our troops would be able for such a journey. Lord Of The Rings sold NZ as a country I'd like to visit obviously without the Orcs and mad looking stuff in the movie Grin

Hello Tap I can see you!!

ZenOfPetals · 27/05/2013 12:48

awwwww, our little thread is more than a week old now, how sweet. Do you know Tuckman's stages of group formation- forming, storming, norming, performing? Are we past the forming stage now? Should we expect some controversial storming next?

Zen never heard of it. brilliant though!

too tired to fight, maybe tomorrow....

amazingmumof6 · 27/05/2013 13:10

btw I went and answered some unanswered qs last night, and realized that I really hate it when I'm first response, butb the Op doesn't bother to answer!
I mean why the hell ask if they don't care about the answer? Angry

Thumbtack · 27/05/2013 15:39

Yes I've been answering unanswered questions too!

So are we all meant to fall out now?

Roomfor1more · 27/05/2013 15:46

Just heard some fantastic news that makes me want to pull my top over my head and run around the garden like a loonie!!!!!!

Sorry not allowed tell anyone for a while yet but needed to share!!!! Grin

Thumbtack · 27/05/2013 16:13

Whatever it is, if you're pleased, then we're pleased!

It's nice to be happy. Smile

Roomfor1more · 27/05/2013 16:35

Thank you Thumbtackx

Its just my FIL has been cleared of all ugly and devious lies that my MIL had against him in court. My MIL is evil beyond belief, not turning this into a MIL bashing thread btw. Feel sorry for dh though, nearly 40 yrs of age and his parents having a slanging match in court Sad FIL is a good man, he's a great Gampy to our kids and he's no way like the person she tells everyone he's supposed to be. Stupid woman Angry

Sorry! Such a light hearted thread for me to then wade in all misery laden. I'll shut up now Wink As you were lol

amazingmumof6 · 27/05/2013 16:59

Roomie - no, don't be silly, MIL bashing is great if deserved! Grin

poor Gampy, tell him to get girlfriend or just pretend he has one, that would get your MIL's blood boil! mwahaha Grin (sorry, bit nasty of me)

glad about the good news!

Thumbtack · 27/05/2013 20:54

Oh god . . . I may have posted about a controversial topic in chat, wish me luck.

Thumbtack · 27/05/2013 20:56

roomie great result! It's tough when you know someone is lying . .

Does anyone have a DC with braces? DD just had them put on today, and is distraught

OP posts:
Thumbtack · 27/05/2013 21:28

Not braces but I remember when I had to have glasses - it was the worst day of my life. Then I had contact lenses - best day of my life!

How old is she?

ZenOfPetals · 27/05/2013 21:32

She also has glasses, and a twin with neither, so it's really causing strife

She got glasses at 2. That day, I took her to M&S for a treat afterwards, and she caught sight of herself in the mirror, then lay down flat on the floor, crying. A pair of grannies came up and asked what was wrong. I told them, "She just got glasses today," as DD climbed up from the floor to look at the grannies. One said, "Well, would you blame her?" causing more floor crying

I got braces a week before my eldest sister got married, I was 12. I looked like Jaws from James Bond when I smiled and ended up crying because the photographer shouted at me to smile Sad I hope he got the pox up his ass for being so horrible. Took my Dad to tell him to back off and threaten he wouldn't get paid for to get him to shut the hell up about it. Got glasses when I was 14.

I was the package deal, me! I had more metal on my head than Metal Mickie! Meh!

ZenOfPetals · 28/05/2013 09:43

Yes, I think 12 is more the average age for braces, so she will be the first in her class. This could be a good thing- it may not dawn on the others to make fun of her, or it could be a bad thing, due to the novelty factor.

How I managed to have twins- we were TTC for a while, then got referred to an infertility clinic (not UK). I was put on Clomid (think they do that for nearly all the patients of this clinic), and when that did not work, the doc said, "double the clomid and add parlodel"= twins, conceived very quickly

Photographers can be so awful. Why do they dress so messily for weddings? They always stand out so much

Zen I have twins, 13 months, twins all over my side of the family. On the twins I was so sick for the first few weeks dh used to say there were twins there and I used to laugh, throw up and laugh some more. When I had my first scan and saw two I nearly died, told the Sonographer to F**k off, I was so shocked! Ds1 was in hospital with pneumonia at the same time so dh was with him while I was being scanned. When I told him there were two he did a lap of the ward!!! My guys are identical and stay really close together, they even hold hand when they're up in their highchairs. Long may it last!

ZenOfPetals · 28/05/2013 11:19

OH I miss that stage so much! Cute and cuddly

amazingmumof6 · 28/05/2013 20:30

OP posts:
amazingmumof6 · 28/05/2013 21:27

nope, boys are 11, 9, 8, 6, 3
DD is 13 months.

I would've loved twins - maybe next time?

amazingmumof6 · 28/05/2013 21:29

Roomie aaaahhh at holding hands in highchair! adorable!

ZenOfPetals · 28/05/2013 21:51

yes, really adorable. I was so busy trying to do everything just right when mine were babies that I fear I did not treasure that time enough
