to tell me what a piece of piss Chicken and Sweetcorn soup is to make! It takes 5 minutes and costs fuck all. I have being buying this stuff you know? With ACTUAL money.

One idle google and 10 minutes later dd and I have a pan full for lunch, it's lovely.

It was bad enough finding out about cleaning washing machines, and Veet to unclog hairy plug holes.... and now you failed to tell me this Angry

Well you horrible lot, what else have you being holding out on, and keeping from me?????

I have fridge Envy

stealthsquiggle · 27/02/2012 14:55

have to admit to genuine LOL at alcoholic mince rinsing too...

Vivi so your booze auxillary fridge now presumably smells of an interesting combination of vanilla, coffee, lemon, bicarb, coal and fish (WTF is with the coal, BTW - charcoal I could understand, but coal won't absorb anything, will it Confused?)

Fillybuster · 27/02/2012 15:15

I hate it when work gets in the way of MN....

Pinching a banana??? Who knew? Robino - I'm with you on the verging-on-phobic about bananas thing, but feed them dcs 1, 2 & 3 and try not to heave....

Am investing in cheap hair removal cream on my way home tonight...

Now, can someone PLEASE tell me about cleaning my washing machine? Will it get rid of the gunk in the seal???

tantrumsandballoons · 27/02/2012 15:25

90 degree wash, nothing inside the machine, cleans it up lovely
But please don't do what I did, which was forget I was not washing any clothes, put soap powder in, and didn't notice until soap suds filled the door (then run in to my kitchen cursing the people who made me think it was a good idea, turned off washing machine, put rinse cycle on and then started again!!

PercyFilth · 27/02/2012 15:26

Dossil? £3.49? WTF? Get yourselves to a proper hardware shop, preferably an independent one where they will probably be about 99p.

Fillybuster · 27/02/2012 15:29

Ah....thanks tantrums, I would so have put soap powder in if you hadn't told me :) Now then - can I use the 'short wash' (1hr 30) or do I have to do the long cycle?

Will this really get seal clean??!

Byeckerslike · 27/02/2012 15:29

Agree percy, mine is from wilkos, twas less than an enlish pound

stealthsquiggle · 27/02/2012 15:29

the non-branded hardware shop version of a Dossil is also very handy in playmobil obsessed owning households to prevent the loss of flippers and other small pieces of bath-resident playmobil.

Byeckerslike · 27/02/2012 15:29

Which is less than an english pound obvs Blush

BellaBearisWideAwake · 27/02/2012 15:34

Fridge- saucer of ground coffee

BellaBearisWideAwake · 27/02/2012 15:37

Whoops, was reading this thread very slowly at a birthday party and see someone has alreadysuggested coffee for the fridge

tantrumsandballoons · 27/02/2012 15:39

Think it had to be a full hot wash cycle.

ViviPru · 27/02/2012 15:41

Yes sorry, it is charcoal, not coal.

It's like some kind of dodgy installation art piece Confused

And it still smells Sad

Any one have any oven cleaning secrets?

smartiesrule · 27/02/2012 15:53

It stays beautifully clean Grin

takingbackmonday · 27/02/2012 15:53

WHat's WD40?

GlitterKitty · 27/02/2012 15:58

Filly- I put those soda crystal things inside drum (and few in drawer) before doing the naked boil wash, the seal was clean after but still a bit stained from my dyeing experiments.

Dont forget evil bottom drawer on washing machine where extra water/gunk collects.

There is one of these secret drawrers on the tumble dryer too (as well as inside door fluff filter)- didnt realise THAT for 4 years, when machine had collected a wooly blanket in there. Put fear of god into me as it can cause fires Shock

smartiesrule · 27/02/2012 15:59

WD40 is a tin of lubricant.
No, not used like that!
Good on hinges etc

ViviPru · 27/02/2012 16:03

3 fridges Chaos? Confused So...

  1. General fridge
  2. Alcohol Auxiliary fridge
and...
  1. Cheese fridge? (that's what I'd have)
Honeydragon · 27/02/2012 16:06

FFS Viv send that picture to the Tate, give them the fridge and buy a new fridge and car with the proceeds!
