D'y ever wonder how much effort goes into thinking of these thread titles?

Afternoon, just marking my place on the new thread . I was going to suggest the title, d'y ever wonder how many children bagpuss can have sent home from school in one week? ds2 managed to get into a scuffle in the school toilets yesterday lunch time (he is 4 ) and was pushed over and sliced his head open on a cubicle door . We ended up at hospital (me, him and the dts) where he had it glued back together - it was very deep apparently, the nurse said. He has missed his first nativity as a result but is otherwise OK.

Marsy, the button that delivers children to school? That would be speed dial 1 on the telephone which phones my mother who then comes and picks them up for me .

Trips, much respect for your baking. I have been spared that this year - our school fair was cancelled as most of the PTA resigned . It's a shame really as it is usually such a good evening and raises loads of money for the school.

Hope you are all well. Curio, I hope the night feeding is not getting you down too much. My dts are 9 weeks now and only wake once in the early morning - they are so close to going through the night now it is very frustrating. I must admit that I do quite enjoy when it is just me and them awake - I always think how lucky I am to be having all those extra cuddles with my lovely babies . BTW, who said you were a troll and why?

curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 15:41

bagpuss! Hello! Lovely to see you! My DS is also 4 and is doing his first school nativity this week (three performances!). I saw it on weds - his teacher said he was the star shepherd . I was excited because the DTs slept through a feed during it and I got us and DD there on the bus in time to get a seat at the front.

Anyway, my DS also did a spectacularly stupid thing last weekend. He had a party in a soft play place and DH took him. He bit, yes bit his friend! DH said his friend had been punching DS over and over for the whole party and DS bit his hand when he punched him in the mouth! I was trying not to be with DH for not doing anything about DS being hit but Jesus, he is 4, he knows biting is really, really bad and he has never done it before! Sad to miss the nativity and poor DS' head

Night feeding is not so bad, they are good little sleepers and only need feeding, not settling as well like DS did. Just want booze! Lol, DH has drunk 21 units, at home, in 9 days

ROFL - thats a quaint Salford saying.

Also: how are your piles for love bites

and

My DH's chat up line - 'You dont sweat much for a fat bird' - gets the girls every time that one

shabbapinkfrog · 11/12/2009 16:55

LMFWAO - Im singing 'Rudolph the red nose reindeer' to Lew and DH is accompanying my singing with fart noises that he is blowing on Lews belly......poor, poor kid. If he isin't on Jezzer Kyle by the time he is 15 I will show my bum in Burtons window

curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 16:58

Oh I have heard "you don't sweat much..."

Ha ha ha! Connor likes that! He asks for it, that and DH holding him across his knee and strumming his back like a guitar whilst imitating a guitar sound.... weirdos both of them... Connor says "Neil, NEIL! I want you to play me like a atar?!'

A day in the life of Shabbs

Plus 30 hours per week looking after Lew, a DH that never, ever stops moaning, a lovely, but batty Mother, a Dad who loves a drink or 10, an eldest son who doubts everything he does and worries if he has nothing to worry about.

Other than that I am fine - thanks!!

oooggs · 11/12/2009 20:29

curio - I have just looked at your profile and din't realise you and your dcs were so young

curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 20:56

not a bad thing at all, my 3 youngest are close in age, dts were 21 mths when ds3 was born and I still find the school run a challenge

frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2009 21:31

May I just say how proud I am that this thread has just gone on and on! I'm doing the quickest of catchups.....

DP is on a Christmas do and is 'through West', his taxi collects him at 1am, its an hour away so I reckon 2.30am before he's home. I could (a) get an early night, (b) progress Christmas, or (c) drink wine and MN and eat anything that the cupboards hold....... Until I decide I am sipping wine and eating casserole.

Shabs, Elkie Brooks, I love her!!! Love that song. For those who were wondering, I can probably tell you how many threads there have been in total.....I still have each and every one of them in my watched items

curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 21:48

c... definitely...

hello fg.

Hullo you!!!!!!!!!!!

Hideously belated congratulations!!!! Where is your birth story? Tell me, tell me, tell me, how it all went? How wonderful, are you well?

By my counting and counting isn't really what I'm best at, there have been 42 threads including this one. 43 if you count the one where I went ballistic at Shabs for starting a thread that didn't begin "D'y ever wonder......" and a few "d'y ever....roundup" threads and the odd "d'y ever.....sign in here" threads.

We will be 5 years old in April!!

Oh god, the thought of having a wee one snuggled in makes me quadruple broody!! Going to read it now..........

curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 22:25

It's lovely that he's all snuggled but I have needed a wee for a while and he won't let me put him down

OP posts:
frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2009 22:36

What a great birth! Great memories to hold. How fab! It just sends me straight back.......

How wonderful, truly, all the shitty times that I had, it just disappears and you hold the magical ones so close. The latest one for me is my DT2 has been surgically mated with a deluxe Santa hat. Its deep red and soft with cream, fluffy trimmings. He never removes it. I removed it last night at bedtime. Then, when I checked him when I went to bed, he was snoring loudly, fully dressed in pyjamas and dressing gown, sleeping on top of the covers upside down (he was breech and often sleeps at the feet end of the bed!!!!??????) and on top of the covers with his hat firmly on. Class act

More wine anyone?

frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2009 22:38

wee and sleep for you doll x.

curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 22:43

Yes, there's nothing that compares with being a mother. I love it.

Oh Ella is like that with her neon pink father christmas hat! She takes it to bed every night I have never stopped he because her rage is frightening - I do not want to risk it for the sake of a xmas hat.

I would like wine... Oh how I would like some lovely wine...

OP posts:
curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 22:45

Neil is drinking again ... He is coming up with excuses to sleep downstairs so he can have a beer without risking my rage
