Quotes Mars:

"keep mama happy, keep everyone happy"

adds:

"keep daddy happy, keep everyone happy"

yup, if you feed, feed, feed you can watch telly and MN too.......if he gets some beer time, he'll bring you food and comfort.

Or something

curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 23:36

Neil's been a bit too 'happy' this week already - he's only slept upstairs once! lol

The babies didn't want to feed, feed, feed today, they have been all nice and cuddly and quiet!

He brings me food and comfort anyway to be fair to him and I quite like having the big bed all to myself. Beer away, beer away, just don't let me see it ir smell it or I will have to bathe in it

Could be your body is craving the hops!

curiositykilledhaskittens · 11/12/2009 23:51

Oh, to make it worse there is a lovely beer shop opened literally just outside our front door. I went in to buy beer for xmas hampers the other day... I would so have given in and had a beer by now if I wasn't frightened of the babies coming to harm! Just know I'll be incapable after a few sips and may smother them due to falling asleep while feeding/drop them! Lol... why can't men lactate? Maybe I should dose Neil up with Goats rue and Fenugreek...

Oh, look at the time... There is a baby stirring and trying to eat her fingers, must be time for swaddling, milking and bed... Good night FG, lovely to have you and your words of wisdom to myself tonight!

Good morning all.

Just wanted to share my good news...

Identical twin boys born by elective C-section on 10/12/09 (their paternal GF's birthday - Happy Birthday, Papa!).

Adam Dominic born first weighing 7lb2oz, followed one minute later by Thomas Jude, who weighed 6lb15oz. Two happy, healthy boys. We spent some extra time in Recovery as Thomas had a bit of TTN, but all settled now, and both boys are doing well. Breastfeeding well established (they were both very hungry last night, so not much sleep for me) and the Lansinoh is coming in handy already!

We hope to get home tomorrow, especially as DD Catherine is not fussed on hospital environment & finds it all a bit confusing.

My little boys are starting to stir, so must go to gaze at them adoringly with awe & wonder check on them.

Hope everyone else is well xx

neenz · 12/12/2009 09:08

Fab news Derv - love the names! Sounds like you are doing great. Hope you get home soon, it's so much better when you get in your own home.

I know how your Dh is feeling curio (love that we are calling you curio - it sounds like a gangsta rapper, oh no that's coolio ) - I could have murdered a wine last night. But I suppose I would rather be pregnant (just!). Perhaps drinking every night is a bit excessive - can you both agree he will drink at weekends only?

shabbapinkfrog · 12/12/2009 09:44

Morning girls,

Many congratulations Derv - amazing weights and wonderful names. Awwwww twin boys how truly amazing. xxxx

curiositykilledhaskittens · 12/12/2009 11:50

Derv! CONGRATULATIONS! Fantastic news, well done, very good weights and lovely names!

neenz - I have decided to let him choose how much he drinks, which will be every night in the beginning, but set conditions i.e. if he drinks he sleeps downstairs which will provide an incentive not to drink. Going down the passive aggressive manipulation route!

I like being called curio too, it reminds me of curios - interesting little knick knacks.

Morning Shabba!

D'y ever wonder how people manage with just one baby? I have woken full of love

MarsLady · 12/12/2009 12:57

Congratulations Derv! Well done. Keep a check on their latch. You shouldn't need lanisoh. Am here if you need me.

Bet they're gorgeous! Looking forward to the photos.

JacksmamaInAPearTree · 12/12/2009 18:56

LOL at "how do people manage with just one baby"

Oh, we do... somehow... poor deprived souls that we are

Congrats on new twin babies xx

elmoflumpity · 12/12/2009 21:34

Ah congrats derv. goodness they are huge. I thought mine were big & I still have the back ache to prove it 4 weeks later.

Apols again as usual for being crap at posting. Curio I have no idea how you manage... I don't have any Internet at the moment which doesn't help. Just iPhone which is a tad fiddly to type on with a baby on yr boob.

did I read bagpuss saying yours are nearly going all night at 9 weeks??? Good grief. Dd1 was frigging 7 months before she managed that! I live in hope. DTs vary at the mo. Feed all day then with luck they go 11pm 3am 6.30am but often dt2 has wind 'issues' from 3-6am which is bloody knackering. How hard can it be to fart?????

Fg that's cool the 5 year thread. You must feel like a proud mum

elmoflumpity · 12/12/2009 21:38

Forgot to boringly explain lack of Internet (and lack of posting) is because we moved house on Tuesday. Hurrah.

so we are all out of hospital recovered from assorted life threatening diseases and have moved so at last kind of feel i'm emerging from a bizarre 4 weeks nightmare and can rejoin the world. Yay.

MarsLady · 12/12/2009 23:26

Good to see you elmo. Looking forward to you being back more full time.

shabbapinkfrog · 13/12/2009 07:39

Morning girls xx

piximontopofthetree · 13/12/2009 12:26

Many congrats Derv lovely names and fab weights.

I spent the night in dt1's bed as both dts pestered to sleep in our bed last night so I let them. When dh and I went up they were nestled close, cuddling each other, had discarded our quilt and put our prettier throw over themselves. Twas sooooo cute I stood cooing over them for half an hour. We snuggled in either side of them for a while but eventually dt1's snoring I accepted defeat and snuck out.

DD1 was in for a shock this morning as she jumped on dt1's bed for her 5am wake up call and got nabbed by me instead.

MarsLady · 13/12/2009 14:26

Nice to see you Pixi!

neenz · 13/12/2009 14:46

Hi everyone! Well done bagpuss with the sleeping. My DTs were sleeping 11pm to 7am with just one feed each in the night at 7 weeks. It was a real turning point for us, I thought I was going to die of sleep deprivation before that . They were BF'd too - I Gina Forded their sorry asses .

Me and DH went out last night and the PILs had the DTs (yey!). They even did bathtime and got them up this morning and took them to church. So it was a lovely break. I am feeling a bit tired with this pregnancy, but it is to be expected I suppose with two 19mos to look after (although I didn't have to look after them last night or this morning ). It is not really having them at home that's tiring, it's when we go anywhere, it is just such a pain getting them in and out of the car and pram all the time on my own. I get a lot of singleton envy when I think how easy it must be to go anywhere with just one baby! I have always felt a bit sorry for singleton mums though because they only have one . Twins really are double the love!

oooggs · 13/12/2009 19:46

wow derv congrations - great names and weights

neenz - pregnant with another child is hard, pregnant with twin toddlers is very very very hard as many of us know and can totally sympathise

curio - loving the bundle in the dressing gown

HarrogateMum · 13/12/2009 21:49

congrats derv!!!!

oooggs...you are so right...pg with twin toddlers....the hardest! But we have lived to tell the tale!

ladies...DH has gone back to Bratislava again....he spends more time there than he does here. Infact he may have to go there again next week...i.e go on Sunday 20th and come back on 23rd....hmmmm thoughts?

shabbapinkfrog · 14/12/2009 06:44

yes we can tell the tale albeit a dodgy one

It gets easier as they get older.......................... waiting!!!!

No honestly my 3 under 3 are all easier together than the 6 year old

neenz · 14/12/2009 19:53

Thanks for the sympathy, guys . I usually only feel this tired when I have been out on a bender - mmm, some not-very-funny irony in that... I could have murdered a wine this weekend.

DH keeps asking me if I want a glass, then saying 'oops! Forgot'

kathryn2804 · 14/12/2009 23:06

Congrats Derv, sounds like you're doing great! Hope you get out soon
