I know what I would do.

  1. Buy a 5 bedroom house so we all get our own room, big garden so James could have a dog.
  1. Get private medical insurance so we never again have to await scans and results.
  1. Buy Shabs a villa in Faliraki.
  1. Throw a big party for all my lovely lovely mad mums on here.
  1. Treat myself to highlights.
  1. Buy bags and bags of M&S choccy nuts!

I'm a day late, but I was thinking of Matthew yesterday.

Mars, you know you are most welcome...just wish I could have done more, but had DTs in tow.

Had DT2 at the doc's this am - turns out she has tonsillitis (sp?). Poor lamb is really under the weather. GP gave her some antibiotics but told me to hold off unless she developed white spots on her tonsils. By this evening I thought there were white spots so I tried to give her medicine...the first spoonful was spat out on the floor!! It took another 2 hours of alternating bribery, coaxing, threats, offers of treats, withholding of treats before she finally swallowed the dose - and then said 'oh it wasn't that bad mummy' . DH came home in the middle of it all and ended up in a stinking mood as a result.

So tomorrow is DD1's 6th birthday . This time 6 years ago, I was 2 days into a hellish induction, with little progress made, nil by mouth in the middle of a heatwave, to be ready for a CS first thing the next day.

We're going to a christening tomorrow, so the party is on Sunday - just hoping DT2 will be better by then. Looks like DH will be staying at home with her tomorrow though, unless she stages a dramatic recovery overnight.

I have to have a proud mummy moment - DD1 got her school report yesterday and I am so pleased and proud of her. She's one of the youngest in her class, but is reading at year 2 level and is doing brilliantly in all her subjects - her teacher wrote some lovely things about her. And then she was in the Gold Book at assembly today .

Right, off to bed, have a mad weekend ahead.

FG, I've probably missed you, but have a fab time in Dublin. I do hope you get to spend some quality time with your little brother this week.

Merly, glad to hear DT2 has been full of beans .

triplets · 10/07/2009 23:42

FG.............missed you, hope you have a fabbo time
TK quite right to be a proud Momma, her reading level is amazing!
I too am going to be a proud Momma next week, on Weds there is going to be the grand unveiling of a new stained glass window in our school and its Rebeccas design! Sadly though she is leaving(of course they all are) on Frid, cannot believe they are all off to big school, feel quite weepy about it all. Would have dearly loved another year for them there, for me too, the last year has been hell.
Better get to bed, my eyes are stinging they are so tired! Kale Nits everyone xx

Good night girls - Frumpster have a good 'un. Trips - it is fecking flipping awful when our beloved kids go to High School - but they will be fine. Wish I could be there to see DD's design - will be there in spirit.
TK - well done to DD - she is doing sooooo well BUT be prepared for a small 'melt down' later in primary school. Tom was the same but was bored stiff for a short while. Loads of encouragement and cuddles (which I know you already do) xxxx

Good morning ladies xx

triplets · 12/07/2009 08:39

You make me laugh Rubester, really wish he had got dinner!! Wish mine would, years since anyone has cooked for me. Had a rough day yesterday with this pain in my side, it is realy getting me down. Kids still in bed, Harry just come down, expecting and hoping for bacon and eggs, er guess who forgot to get some bacon yesterday A lovely day instore, I just love Sundays, remember last weeks? James and Becs are on stage in Margate, its their dance/singing graduation show. Thomas is staying with my brother, its his idea of hell, and truth to tell Harrys too. Have to have them over there by 3.45pm, show wont start until 5.30pm and wont end until 9pm, home around 10pm!! The kids leaving to go to big school doesnt worry me Shabs, I know they will be fine. Its me that worries me! I am not ready for the change, its alot to cope with too, everything xs three, three different classes, diff homework days, etc etc. I am just going to feel lonely, I know it. Better get on, but dont feel like it, its been raining, good for the garden but would like to see the sun today. Big day in Deal today, the band of the Royal Marines is coming from Portsmouth, back to us their home town, playing on the bandstand on the seafront, its the 20th a/v of the IRA bombing at our barracks which killed 11 musicians. There will be over 2000 people there, quite moving. We can`t go because of their show, never mind. Right getting hot, need some air and b/fast. Have a good day xxx

Oh my word Trips - I remember that IRA bombing. I worked in Manchester city centre when they bombed there in the 1970's and then we were in London in the late 70's when they were bombing there!! Scary times to be honest.

I only realised how much you will have 'to be on the ball' re: Triplets and High school when I read your post. It takes some getting used to at first. We made a timetable for home when Tom first started last September. Just the usual - uniform off, homework, pack bags for tomorrow etc etc....

Hope you have a lovely day - take care xx

I have moved house and am more knackered than you know! So much to do.....

Will post more later. For now, I have a roast to cook!

Momma..... email please!

shabster · 12/07/2009 17:40

Thanks Mars - she asked me to update the thread as well - BUT I had to try and drag the Tomster off the computer!! Taxi comes for us at 4am on Wednesday morning girls - it wont come fast enough

HarrogateMum · 12/07/2009 19:44

oooh Momma, whats going on? Sound intriguing....do spill.

tkband3 · 12/07/2009 22:28

Mars, have texted you .

Momma, v. excited for you and Poppa - keeping everything crossed .

Had a lovely party for DD1 this afternoon. She wanted to have a craft party, so I got some felt bags and loads of stuff to decorate them with and some glass bangles with special pens for them to colour them in. There were only 10 of them, including my lot, but they all had such a nice time and I was dead chuffed with it all. The most stressful bit was making and icing the cake - if I can work out how, I'll upload a picture of it, as I was v. proud of it.

Right off to the Springsteen thread to see what FG's been up to .

triplets · 13/07/2009 11:39

What excitement on here! Shabs I am going to miss you, but so happy for you! Concert was very good last night, Becs was center stage for the opening song, she looked sooooo pretty

OP posts:
shabster · 13/07/2009 11:43

Well done Becs - she is braver than me!!

You dont get rid of me that easy Trips The only way to get Tom out of the midday sun is to let him go on the computers in the hotel so I will be posting - Im also so nosey that I am scared of missing anything

Just had an email from Gloria at the hotel - she has been outside and checked the thermometer for us - its 105 degrees at the moment - made me have a menopausal hot sweat just thinking about it.
