I'm a day late, but I was thinking of Matthew yesterday.
Mars, you know you are most welcome...just wish I could have done more, but had DTs in tow.
Had DT2 at the doc's this am - turns out she has tonsillitis (sp?). Poor lamb is really under the weather. GP gave her some antibiotics but told me to hold off unless she developed white spots on her tonsils. By this evening I thought there were white spots so I tried to give her medicine...the first spoonful was spat out on the floor!! It took another 2 hours of alternating bribery, coaxing, threats, offers of treats, withholding of treats before she finally swallowed the dose - and then said 'oh it wasn't that bad mummy' . DH came home in the middle of it all and ended up in a stinking mood as a result.
So tomorrow is DD1's 6th birthday . This time 6 years ago, I was 2 days into a hellish induction, with little progress made, nil by mouth in the middle of a heatwave, to be ready for a CS first thing the next day.
We're going to a christening tomorrow, so the party is on Sunday - just hoping DT2 will be better by then. Looks like DH will be staying at home with her tomorrow though, unless she stages a dramatic recovery overnight.
I have to have a proud mummy moment - DD1 got her school report yesterday and I am so pleased and proud of her. She's one of the youngest in her class, but is reading at year 2 level and is doing brilliantly in all her subjects - her teacher wrote some lovely things about her. And then she was in the Gold Book at assembly today .
Right, off to bed, have a mad weekend ahead.
FG, I've probably missed you, but have a fab time in Dublin. I do hope you get to spend some quality time with your little brother this week.
Merly, glad to hear DT2 has been full of beans .
