Tigs, I take it you won't be telling the doctor about how good you are with animals.......

largeginandtonic · 21/05/2008 10:58

I am waiting on blood test results taken on Monday FG. This will give me an indication of how far along i am, or it may be a high level of hcg early on that means it is more than 1! Dunno, no scan for a while i dont think.

Have just eaten oodon noodles drowned in soy, i feel a bit better.

Tiggs babies wonder if the next baby will have a little sibling tagging along just to keep the 2 theme up

Tell Emma to get walking and then having a huge rest with lots of lovely nosh to keep her strength up. Fingers crossed Lewis comes out bang on time

Trips

Mars Can you tell me about your book club, pleeease? I go to one at the library at the mo (am the youngest there by about 25 years) but it is so huge you get two minutes and that's it, then all the old dears have to leave after 50 minutes because its approaching eight o'clock and they have to 'go home, draw curtains and get settled' . So I have plans to start my own, but I want it to be fahhhhbulous. Any tips?

Hmm. Er....Shabs and FG planning to meet in Manchester? Where and when did you say? No reason, just curious....

Nothing going on here [innocent]

shabster · 21/05/2008 14:05

Any one reassure me? - I am 9 weeks (twins) and along with horrible sick feeling and the ability to only sip lucizade (bizarre ) I get shivery every evening. Did anyone else get this? and anyone got any good tips for what makes for a pleasent smell in the house - its not unclean or anything but i can smell everything - like I have become the bionic women with a souped up nose - ooh misery!

Thanks x

shabster · 21/05/2008 16:14

Gem. I had a nose like a bloodhound each time I was expecting my sons. With the twins (didnt find out they were twins till 36 wks) I couldnt even open the fridge door!! The shivery bit I'm not sure about probably the shock of finding there are 2!! I lived on tinned peas with vinegar on and sherbert boiled sweets

Congratulations, by the way

Ladies: I dont need to pack what the wonderful HM sent me - just to assure you we will have a lovely meal and a few gallons of retsina in the village taverna with it - if I wasn't afraid of moths I would open my purse and put it straight in NOW!!! HM I lurve you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ChopsTheDuck · 21/05/2008 16:31

tiggs, hate to say it but as they get older, one will more than likely kill the other! THey fight like mad, esp dwarf hamsters. I'd take one back asap.

I've been lurking, the shame of it!

sorry to ehar you had a bad night trips, hope today is going better for you.

dt2 is still making progress with potty training..of sorts. He just goes wherever he feels like it! Today he pulled his pants down at the park and pooed. He was dead proud of it then he got peeved 'cos 'There Flies on my POOO! tell them get OFF!'
I had to get a bag off the neighbouring nursery to clear it up before they let their hoards in there, which annoyed dt2 even more, who attempted to produce a replacement.

He has completely fallen in love with his penis - I had to stop them both spraying each other with urine this morning, then grab him before he gleefully splashes in the puddles he makes.

Why didn't I jsut stick to nappies?

MerryMarigold · 21/05/2008 18:02

gemenaux, don't worry, it will hopfefully all improve by 11-12 weeks. i had all except the shivers (!), although i did feel really cold when it was cold. and it all cleared up for me. in fact, i thought i was too well to be having more than one baby and it turned out to be 3! hope you can start eating well soon. my friend bought me this book about how to eat when you're expecting multiples - it's really scary. they recommend meat/ fish 3 x per day, 3 meals and 2 large snacks! the menu is amazing (big on meat, carbos and fats - never again can we indulge so guiltlessly!), but apparently they've had loads of success with higher birthweight babies! I am eating about a third of what they say and I have quite a big appetite.

chops. potty training -eughhh. story made me laugh. i keep trying with my ONE ds and is hard work. so far he will sit on the potty and PRETEND to poo, but when it comes to doing it, I have found many small 'presents' all over the garden where he was running around naked last week when it was warm. ah well, hopefully they'll get it in the end, and what a pleasure NO NAPPIES will be.

MarsLady · 21/05/2008 18:23

So lovely to see newbies!

Now.. what was the question asked of me again? Just had my favourite kind of playdate. 2 friends over for the DTs. The mums came and brought wine and snacks! Oh I love it!

Estar a successful bookgroup needs:

8-10 people max
lots of wine
lots of snacks

In our bookgroup we don't go with an agenda. We all arrive with our suggestions for the next bookgroup. We talk about the book, we drink wine, we put the world to rights. Then we suggest what we'd like to read, go by the general consensus and someone volunteers to host. The host provides the wine and snacks. Wonderful. We don't talk about school or children. That is verboten!

Now... must start to think about sending the DTs to bed.

Darling I'll tell you what we are reading, you can read it, send me your comments and I'll relay them. I'll tell you when we are meeting so that you can drink copious amounts of wine and be a virtual member!
