My MIL passed away Tuesday night. DH had left the hospice to take his younger brother home and she passed away about 10 mins later holding FIL's hand, calm and peaceful. I can't believe she's gone. I'd always hoped someday she'd get to know my children and them her, she didn't even have time to see the baby. Can't wait for DH to get here but also dreading it, I have foot in mouth syndrome and always seem to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. (He suffers from it too but that'll be little consolation right now).

Really hoping to get a change of luck soon. It's just been such a rollercoaster lately and I'm still not fully recovered from the chest infection I had while DS3 was being born. I have so many depending on me I need to be strong for all of them.

FG - I've emailed you.

LG&T - I love Atticus. Naming day tomorrow and still undecided. Today I like Athamus and Phrixus.

Tigs If you fancy popping over at some point I have cake and coffee.

piximon · 15/05/2008 11:57

Oh and Tigs I already have a rabbit but thanks for thinking of me . Mine is currently living in my mum's back garden in London. Not allowed pets here.

largeginandtonic · 15/05/2008 12:16

Pix i am loving both those names, hmmmmm. The children named Jonah, we called him a different name every day until one stuck. Course you only have 1 day left so tricky. Sorry to hear about your mil, poor dh. Just hug him lots

I have a wabbit too, well more of a dog really. At night it unzips it's suit t reveal a Lab i am sure of it. Carrots looks like this but she is white

HarrogateMum · 15/05/2008 13:16

Oh Pixi - big hugs to you and your DH.

I too have had some bad news today. My FIL has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was supposed to be meeting up with us in Brisbane for the whole duration of our stay next week but now has ot have major abdominal surgery so we will probably be flying down to Melbourne at some stage to see him. It is a virile strain apparently and the surgery not simple - poor DH is in bits.

Does anyone have any input on the separate classes/same class thing? DTs starting reception September. School has no fixed policy but generally they get split up. DTs are quite different in interests, friends (therefore playdates) and appearance and never actually get referred to as twins. Only 3 other children transferring from their nursery and have horrible vision of those 3 + one girl being in one class and other girl being with no-one she knows. Also would be so much easier for me for waiting outside classroom, liasing with teachers, accompanying trips etc if I have to be in one place not two - but am I being selfish? Class allocation is being done next week and I haven't been able to get hold of the Head to discuss. Any views, ladies?

so sorry Pixi

TiggerTonkerTruck · 15/05/2008 15:37

HM so sorry to hear about your FIL

Pixi I am so on my way,but I meant to say if you and DH want a break at the weekend just drop the kids off here.I don't like to call at the weekend in case you like to do stuff together but if you want some time alone, please just bring them round and that really is a genuine offer.
I am sure I can bribe them to stay with an ice-cream

shabster · 15/05/2008 16:55

Oh ladies.....Emma is now sorting all her clothes out. Today she has gutted her kitchen, cleaned the bathroom, and put her CD's in alphabetical order

Her best friend has just gone into labour (she is 38 weeks) and is texting Em to tell her that its not half as bad as she thought it was going to be! She's almost in the final stages so I think that has cheered Em up a lot.

I'm already mentally ill today and she is making me piggin' hyperactive as well.

Watch her go over her date now!!

frumpygrumpy · 15/05/2008 17:06

Pixi I'm so sorry to hear that. I will check my email shortly. Its so hard to see a way through when you are swimming in treacle...........xxxxxx........it will change again and it will feel better than this.

HM thats awful. How strange that your trip coincides. Good and bad I suppose xxxxxx.

I got a text from Mars earlier. The good news is she is home! The sad news is that she is on bed rest, she fainted on the plane and had to have stiches in hospital!

I know there is not one of us believes that this was a sober flight but she claims the hospital uttered the words "possible exhaustion/possible low bp" and checked her heart (which seems fine). I will leave it to you all to make up your own minds but I guess there is a 1% chance of the hospital being right....... Care packages should be sent to London.....

Welcome home Mars! Hope your bruises are mending xxx.

frumpygrumpy · 15/05/2008 17:06

And she misses you and sends love to you all.

Rubester think I will have to double up on the panick attack pills the day Lewis pops out.......see, for me, he is already another reason to get out of bed in the morning, another reason to put my 'I'm fine thanks' face on before I go out of the door. Know this all makes me sound like a bit of a drama queen but.....Im so excited and happy about our little 'circle of life' that I can hardly contain myself.

My mam and dad are taking Em and Dan the 600 (yes six hundred) different sized nappies to their house tonight. Every week for ages they have bought them a pack of nappies and filled their spare bedroom with them!! My mam is, I have decided, quite insane!!
