28 weeks pregnant with twins and struggling!

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with DCDA twins and really starting to slow down and struggle.

My little boy is 16.5mo and I just can't keep up with him!

I'm very grateful that all is going well with my pregnancy and the twins are thriving. I've just hit a wall I think, with a lot of tummy discomfort and one transverse twin that is sticking into my ribs!

Please tell me it gets a bit easier (physically) when the babies are born Smile

So ended up being induced yesterday evening! Broke my waters at 1630 and babies born just after 2330! twin 1 7lb 2 and twin 2 5lb 12, all well so far! can't believe my boys are here!

Oh mrsm I'm delighted for you! And what weights too. Well done you. Was that a full vaginal for both of them? How far gone were you? I'm 35w6d today and have only bought little things so I might be sending DH out for bigger clothes if either of mine are over the 7llb mark as well. Hope everything is going well so far and you get things like feeding sorted so you can get home as soon as you feel ready. Wonderful wonderful update for a Friday xx

No sign of anybody planning on making an appearance any time soon over here!

hollynoble · 24/04/2015 15:25

Congrats mrsm! That's such lovely news and great weights for both of them!

I feel I have a long wait for mine to appear but as long as they arrive healthy I don't mind! I just want to get over that 24 weeks hurdle, nearly there.

So ease for you and Eagle. 2015, wishing you luck as the next one due Smile

Ratfinkandbobo · 24/04/2015 18:14

Relieved to hear your boys were good weights and healthySmile
Now the fun startsGrin

So after thinking nothing was happening in the space of one day I lost a small bit of my plug at breakfast, leaked a little bit more throughout the day, had a total Niagara Falls moment when my waters went at 7.45pm complete with muconium and an EMCS at 3am which resulted in my two babies making their appearance a week earlier than the planned section we'd spent the day organising at the hospital! My little girl was 4llb 1oz and my little boy was 5llb 1oz which given they arrived at 36w3d is a bit on the small side so we are all in hospital with three hourly feeding in the hope they start to chunk up. Mixed first day with feeding but I'm getting loads of support so fingers crossed it all works out.
Can't quite believe they are here and I'm a mummy but am loving the first hugs and staring up at me eyes
Good luck to those still waiting
Xx

Ah huge congrats 2015! That's so lovely to hear. I hope you and the twins are doing well and getting lots of rest. They obviously had their own ideas as to when they were going to join you. Glad all went well though Smile

Congrats 2015!

Hope nobody minds but I've been watching this thread avidly over the past few weeks. DW is 36w4d so within a day of you 2015.
CS is booked for next week but DW has been convinced every day for the past 3 weeks that 'today is the day'!
Anyway, it has been lovely to read that DW has not been alone with her symptoms, concerns and stresses.

Congrats to Eagle and mrsm for their bundles of fun too.

Hello MrBrownie. Good luck to you and your wife for the week ahead. I hope her intuition turns out to be correct. I felt different on Monday and after the show on Tuesday I just knew we would be meeting our twins before the planned c-section next week and kept asking everybody I saw on Tuesday how the planned elective option would be different if I got admitted earlier. I think they all thought I was neurotic about it but I said to my DH on the way out "we won't be making it until next Wednesday I just know it"...,I just didn't realise it would be this soon though! Even if it doesn't happen for you this week, you have less than a week until you meet your twins!

TheEagle · 30/04/2015 17:44

Massive congratulations 2015! Delighted your bundles are here safe and sound. Hope all continues to go well for them and you all go home soon.

Good luck to you and your DW, mrbrownie - every nasty symptom I had literally melted away when my beautiful boys were born.

2015 CONGRATULATIONS!!! Delighted your twins are here safe and sound and it won't be long before they've filled out a little bit!! its so exciting! I still have to pinch myself that they are actually here!

mrbrownie good luck to you and your wife and you'll be updating us before you know it that your cuddling your babies!

eagle how are you and the twins doing?
We got home Monday, rough few nights but last night they slept between their 3 hourly feeds so got a little bit more sleep!

TheEagle · 01/05/2015 12:26

We're doing well thanks mrsm. The boys were weighed yesterday and they have both regained their birthweights and then some. It makes all the hard work worth it.

They are so easy during the day, they eat and sleep like champs but nighttimes are a different story! They sleep better after they tandem feed but often they wake at different times to be fed which makes it harder.

I know we will get there though and the sleeplessness won't last forever.

Do your twins feed at the same time mrsm?

That's great eagle well done you!!
I'm bottle feeding so at the minute while dh is off when one wakes we wake the other so we at least get the 2 hours sleep in between! they are very slow feeders!!
