frumpy - stay for a while

triplets · 08/11/2010 23:21

Evening girls, any late nighters?? Felt really strange today after y/day, all so unreal, its so sad without her. Kids are still crying, I am surprised that Thomas has taken it so badly as he seems to be the "tough" one, tonight we sat and watched a film tog and he clutched my hand all the way thru it and I could see him fighting back the tears. DH is ok, grumpy so is on the mend!! They have delayed doing the proceedure to the lung now till Thurs!! So he is not a happy bunny as he wants out! Right, can`t keep my eyes open, enough for today, kale nits xx

Morning girls xx

Trips I think maybe that the childrens reaction is a reaction to everything thats happening at the moment. Kind of 'the straw that broke the camels back.' I would imagine they are worried sick about H and probably about you as well. They are at that 'horrible age' - almost teenagers with raging emotions and hormones. You are doing an amazing job with them but sometimes, every human being, has a point where they think 'OK thats enough now.'

My Tom had a melt down on Sunday night. He was struggling with his Maths homework. His 'set' are being fast tracked in the aim to let them sit their GCSE Maths next year instead of year 11. It just got to him on Sunday and because I said 'You mustn't have been listening when the teacher explained these sums to you.' He had a total melt down. Tears and screaming. We discussed it at length and he seems better now.

Wouldn't be 13 again for a gold pig!!

HarrogateMum · 09/11/2010 07:30

what about for a ginger pig Shabs?

shabbapinkfrog · 09/11/2010 07:53

well maybe HM.

Now he has added me as a friend on FB he has disappeared again Hmm seems some things never change LOL. He is very nervous about being on FB - ROFL - maybe he is on wife number 4 - maybe has swopped the wife number 3 (who is half his age) for a younger model.

Evening girls, can hardly keep my eyes open, just popped in to say goodnight and to leave a few nibbles for you all.......have left over bubble and squeek and bacon, nice?? Also half a bottle of ginger ale, boys drank the rest. I have been tee total since H went into hosp, just not in the mood, prob cos I`m on my own, anybody fancy popping down for a slurp? H phoned this morn, said he was told at 8am no b/fast as they hoped to get him down to theatre today after all.......by 4pm they decided not...so Thurs it is........and he is grumpy! Off out to school tomorrow to see my little ones, guaranteed smile:) Night night xx

Trips - I still havent had any cider since 1st september!!!!!! OMG I miss it!!!! I often dream about it Grin

Not sure if I told you but Toms year 4 teacher died on Saturday - she was in her early 40's. He loved her with a passion. One of the mums told me on FB and Tom put it on his status....within minutes it spread like wildfire and he was sobbing telling his classmates what had happened.

Life is very cruel xx

triplets · 09/11/2010 23:06

Morning girls. xx

Trips - yes we know but I remembered, after I had posted my message, that I hadn't put it on here because I didn't want to upset you. Then I put it on and ..........................she had cancer. She had a hysterectomy last year and chemo....it cleared for a short while then it came back with a vengence.

She was an amazing teacher - totally barking mad and full of noisy fun. Her classroom could be heard all round school!! She used to tell me all the gossip from the staff room

shabbapinkfrog · 10/11/2010 08:32

Tom wanted a wii for Christmas....Oh yes says I - no problem!!! Then the financial panic set in. Chellesters (and my) best friend texted last night to say did I want to buy her kids wii - they have used it just 3 times since last Xmas (they were bought an XBox 360 by their dad (they are divorced) and preferred that much to friends disgust!!) it is still boxed and has games, controls etc etc - she wants just 70 quid for the lot.

triplets · 10/11/2010 13:11

Thats fab Shabs, shes a good friend, this is the trouble now isnt it, they all want big things. My boys are getting an x-box between them, don`t know how that will work as I know Thomas will use the lions share. James has told my brother he is hoping for an i-pod (gulp), Becca wants a camera, clothes etc. I was lucky 2 yrs ago as one of the mums on here sold me a pink i-pod, had all the instructions and everything, she never knew it was second hand. It all costs a fortune, we have never said ok we must spend the same amount on each, they have what they ask for within reason. Just back from school, lovely bunch of kids, love going. Teacher upset this morning as they have frozen his budget of £400 he has to spend a year for play equipment, so I am going to ask on here if anyone has anything they could donate, esp dressing up costumes, MN is brill for that. Better go, got the builders here! H op set for tomorrow, he is nw blocked!!

Can anyone donate dressing up clothes, knights, etc for my little ones in class? They are doing knights and castles this term, anything would be appreciated. In fact any dressing up clothes would be great, they have 6 outfits between 30 of them, no money in the PTA pot either, class budget of £400 for the year has been frozen!!

I will ask around Trips - we just have a 2yr olds Power Rangers costume that Lew plays with Grin AND it's a bit small on him xx

TopsyAndTimsMum · 10/11/2010 21:13

Just popping in to say hi. Feeling a bit crap at the moment but putting brave face on. I can't seem to remember anything either (bought sparklers but forgot to use them, forgot to take dd1 to a b'day party etc).

Trips really sorry to read your news about Tammy. I know just how upsetting it is.
Hope you get some dressing up clothes. I picked up dds halloween costumes for next year for £1.50 each from Wilkinsons and dropped a few of their outgrown ones off at nursery (who are suffering a similar fate to your class).

Did I dream that FG was here?

triplets · 10/11/2010 23:08

Evening ladies, seem to get later......thought I was going to be in bed early........ha ha......soke to dh tonight, he sounded low, just wants to get home, fed up with being in hosp, noisy, cold, and tired. He has his lung op in the morning, then maybe home on Frid, got to somehow get up there at short notice and get him and all his stuff home on 3 trains!! Forgot to say my class are 4/5 yr olds!
