I always live by the phrase 'it is better to regret what you have done than to regret what you didn't do' I have no regrets over what I didn't do - the list of what I have done is too long...

One of my teachers at parents evening told my mum that I would never do anything normal. She thought I would go off and desalinate the Red Sea or somesuch. Mind you, I didn't start work properly until I was 30!

Hi Shabs, you still around? Just got a call and was able to speak to him, all went to plan, but had problems when he came round, was in theatre from 3-5.30pm very quick, but was in recovery until almost 10.30pm! He is nil by mouth for the next 3 days because the bowel and liver have been handled!! Thank god.

Trips Im so glad you got to talk to him. Sounds like things went well with the operation. I think as we get older recovery time goes longer doesn't it? I still haven't recovered from giving birth to Tom LOL. Hope H goes from strength to strength. Thinking about you all xxxx

Hi.........spect you wise ones are asleep, I have only just got up here, its been manic. Spoke to him again today, he has already been moved out of high dependancy unit, so thats reassuring. He saw the surgeon who told him they had a little trouble removing the tumour in the liver as it was pressing on a vein, so they removed both. The hernia and ileostomy both were successful, soooooooooooooooooooooooono more Gladys:) They are keeping him to do the RFA on his lung next Tues, then he comes home and hopefully we can get back to some sort of normal life again. OK,soon be time to get up, am going up to see him tomorrow, so another long day by the time I pick the kids up and get home. Thank thank thank you girls for all your lovely words..............xx

TeaSleepFood · 03/11/2010 14:56

So glad it seems to be going OK with H Trips/ How's the house of hyper children going?

Nice Hat Tom! How do you stop yourself wanting to eat his cheeks? Or am I just a weird cheek eating monster who is doing irrepairable damage to her children?

triplets · 03/11/2010 23:13

No TSF you cannot eat the Tomsters cheeksShock
Hi girls........what a very long day, up at 6.30am, trio out the door by 8.10am, get myself organized, walk to my brothers with dinners for the kids, walk to the station, board train at 11.40am, change twice, fell asleep on train and arr at The Elephant and Castle one stop past my destinationBlushbacktrack and arrive in ward at 2.05pm. Phew! H looked very very uncomfortable and tired, bit of a shock. Drains and tubes everywhere. Wont go into detail but I found it hard to stomach today. He was so dry as he is still nil by mouth, could barely speak, they were forever in and out doing things to him, but they are pleased with his progress. Left him at 16.30pm,finally got into Deal at 8pm, walked to brothers to pick up kids, they werent ready, finally got home at 9pm, hungry, cold and tired! So off to bed, blitzed! Kale Nits xx
