How much is your rent and how many bedrooms?

I’m curious, if you rent how much do you pay and for how many bedrooms? I have a small 2 bed house with garden for £1,100 private landlord, will be looking to move over the next few years and 3/4 bedrooms would likely be around £1,500. I’m fascinated with how areas vary on price so it’s just my general curiosity really.

Round here it would be about £1400 for a 4 bedroomed house. West Midlands.

Why do you want to rent a 4 bed house?

Loveduppenguin · 07/07/2025 11:08

Ireland €1400 for a 3 bed detached.

I have a DD and one on the way and then I also have a SC so would like them all to have their own bedrooms

£1550 for large 4 bed house in a nice village, east mids.

Ohdearwhatnow4 · 07/07/2025 14:48

S/E, I think round here it's £1800 for average unfurnished 3 bed house. When we were waiting for our house to be done up it was cheaper to move to a hotel than rent.

MidnightPatrol · 07/07/2025 14:50

A three bed terrace will go for ~£4k a month in my area of London.

Im amazed how many people are able to rent them - it’s a huge amount.

caringcarer · 07/07/2025 14:51

I'm a LL and rent put several houses in different areas. In West Midlands 3 bedroom hous with garden £950 but will go to £1050 at next rent review. Many similar houses renting for £1200 pcm. 2 bedroom house with garden £875 West Midlands. Market rent £950. In both cases long term tenants who look after the property well. In Hull 3 bedroom house with back yard £700. Market rent probably £750. 2 bedroom houses with back yard £600 recently moved up from £575. Market rent about ££625.

Painrelief · 07/07/2025 14:58

1 bed flat west mids £750 a month . But it does include the water . However I’ve been made redundant and currently on UC and they only pay £495 towards it . I’ve fractured my leg so can’t look for a job either atm so the rent is literally taking up all my money . I’m expecting it to go up again soon coz it has gone up from 495 to 750 in just under 3 years.

£1000 per month at the moment - we signed the lease in 2022 and haven’t had any price increases. We’re about to move out as we’ve finally purchased a house and the landlord has decided to advertise the rental at £1300 p/m for new tenants!

It’s a 3 bed semi in a fairly good area. Bedroom 3 is a tiny box room though, there’s no way anyone could actually fit a bed in there. Badly needs renovated, kitchen is practically falling apart so I don’t feel that £1300 is at all realistic or fair.

MiddleAgedDread · 07/07/2025 15:31

I don't rent but neighbouring properties are on the market at £1350-£1395 for a 2 bed, 2 bath flat.

Ireolu · 08/07/2025 19:51

cloudyblueglass · 08/07/2025 19:58

2 bed terrace around 950
3 bed semi around 1100
